I installed an app call "Reboot Manager" which allow us to bring up the power option via widget.. When I choose reboot it immediately shut down the device and reboot like normal. As I remember if I did that from the physical  button from the upper right, the device will do some loading before shut down... The immediate shut down effect will damage the device or not??
*
I think that is soft reboot, normal reboot should have the "Rebooting Tablet" pop up, soft reboot doesn't erase the data on RAM while hard reboot does.

Yea no harm, soft reboot is also a type of reboot to quickly reboot Android to refresh the new applied settings on system app/framework etc without having to erase all the data in the RAM and reboot the board.

I recall benny's nexus is not running on stock kernel.
You can always turn on aeroplane mode when not in used.

Yeah I know but I wish to be like Benny. Enjoying the 24/7 3G on without worrying the drain. But I recalled he said even unrooted device also can accomplish this 2%. If I keep to stock kernel, what shall I do to achieve that low consumption of battery juice?

In fact quite hard to suggest, what u need a well reception at your best. Choose the strongest signal available n u can't go wrong. As for me, Umobile serves me best.... tongue.gif

First thing , check your wakelocks first than move forward from there

I repeat there is no fast easy solution to this
And in addition, You need to spend time to study all your apps and see which are often connected to internet to refresh data - you either change the time of refresh or deselect any refreshing if you don't need it

It took me at least few days studying this to be able to achieve this and I use same principles in all my Androids
That is why I can consistently achieved such low battery drain overnight in all my Android phones/tablets. The exception are the Xperia Z n Z Ultra which with its default and proven Stamina mode helps further to reduce the battery drain to often below 2% over 7 hours
I am not the only guy who can achieved such - there are several many others too : check up the Xperia Z, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and Note 3 threads - battery drain of less than 5% over 7-8 hours is common with 3G on

I have even tested those so called battery saving apps to reduce phone from accessing internet and I'd not even want to recommend any as their benefits is minimal. Some users will praised them for its effectiveness but for me nothing beats good old manual method of control

Great piece of advice. Thx bro. rclxms.gif after this I will do as suggested & try one by one which is the app is hogging the battery. For a start, I will hard reset my device & see whether I can accomplish this less than 2% drain with 3G on. Subsequently, I will install one app to test the drain. Hopefully I will catch the main culprit...benny you think my action plan is feasible? hmm.gif

I am Xperia Z user, I confirmed my battery fully charged from 11pm until 6.30 am, the battery drop just 3% with 3G on. The stamina mode on xperia z is really impressive. Iam still on stock rom.
