QUOTE(bingding @ Dec 30 2013, 04:43 PM) im living in east msia, got sometimes the brand are limited... erm, i m opting for the acer v246hy.. is it ok though it has no hdmi? if use dvi, will the quality close to hdmi? DVI and HDMI video signal is the same, no problem. In fact HDMI is basically DVI+Audio. VGA/D-Sub is nono, you're going back to analog.

QUOTE(MatchesMalone @ Dec 30 2013, 04:21 PM) There was nothing wrong with the default PCB, AMD just effed up the cooler Some additional reviews: http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/639...n-r9-290-tri-x/http://www.anandtech.com/show/7601/sapphir...stom-cooled-290Looks like green team is still stubborn for another price cut despite the release of non-ref 290s. they dont have to do price cuts bcoz they got many stubbornly loyal fanboys/fangirls

argh.. the 290'X' is not needed for me as i only game with 1080p now.. for a while i was deciding to get the 280X or not but then when 290 vs 280X there's still big difference in performance even only at 1080p This post has been edited by law1777: Dec 30 2013, 06:41 PM

I play few games @1440p with my 1080p monitor.

QUOTE(llk @ Dec 30 2013, 05:09 PM) Lets compare the components used by both cards (Reference & Sapphire Tri-X) Well, it's still based on the reference layout by AMD. The placement for all the mounted components are exactly the same. The thing about components is that sometimes there are several AML (approved manufacturer list) for any given specified component. So even though they appear differently (physically), the electrical function of it must be within AMD's requirement/specification.
