trainer is cyclist best friend..it's no fun riding on a trainer unless you try to complete a session of training, using HRM or Powermeter.

Else, just cycle in front of your TV watching your fav shows smile.gif

As advise by da boss, I'll keep that ceramicspeed plan for the SL5 (god knows when it will be released). But the video you showed is damn poisonous!

In the meantime, the money will be wisely spend on a Retul fitting session.

The thing I hate about coming back with this cycling activity is...it makes me think that there are still a plenty of upgrades that need to be done on my bike..

it should be just go out and ride and not thinking about upgrading too much.

haha. in fact in every hobbies or other things, motorsports, dslr, PC upgrades, etc..they are no fun if there's no window shopping from shop to shop to see expensive items to drool our mind tongue.gif

anyway, nobody in this thread ride a Trek bike? Trek not mainstream in Malaysia?

butthead, what do you think of madone 7 series? I saw madone 6, the frame is damn bulky and muscular looking. when you see in the net it isn't obvious but when i see in in real life it's monstrous.

we have Trek boutique shop here, a few other shops are carrying Trek as well. Do you think it's better than speccie? It tries to combine aero and lightness (700g + frame weight). 2-in-1 u know. too bad no demo bike to test it out shakehead.gif

then cincai buy one lar... cane creek, FSA, token, watever yanks your chain....
the madone 7 tubing looks smaller??? tak perasan pun last time i saw it... the tube shape is different lar cos they employed the kamm tail (truncated airfoil shape) onto the madone 7 and even the new madone 6... i didn't see the new 6... but i've seen before the madone 6.9ssl radioshack replica and the madone 7 series bike... with a bb90 bottom bracket, the downtube is going to be inevitably fat on both bikes.. .so, not sure which or how you saw it looks less bulky...

the madone is a good bike never the less... whether it is better or worse than a tarmac.. i am not sure.. i don't own either one.. i believe it is on par with it plus you get a all rounder + aero bike all in one... the 7 series should cost over 20k as the 6.9ssl team replica last i know was in the 30k region with a set of bontrager aeolus 5 wheels....

the only question is whether you should get 6 or 7 series since both is more or less the same with what i believe to be the 7 being lighter in weight... i am also not sure if 6 is made in waterloo, wisconsin or they have handed the manufacturing to the asians... 7 is for sure made in house because of the HexSL carbon which is exclusive to the 7...

the thing i like about the 7 is the duotrap sensors which provides a clean look throughout the bike with it's internal cablings... the bad thing is.. you are stuck with the brakes as they are more or less a proprietary design with the shrouded brakes... with the 6 and 7.. you also get to fit types which is H1 and H2...

that or you can also consider the domane... it's practically made for people with osteoporosis...

the popularity of the bike... i think i dun need to explain lar... cos of the armstrong, schleck brothers farce... it's practically gone from hero to totally zero...
*
Ooh..I asked about Madone 7, as I only have seen Madone 6. The 7 was not at the store, have to order, roughly the 6 is 15k dirhams (ultegra), the 7 is around 20k (not sure about the groupset).

The frame looks pretty fat, but light. As far as the ride is concerns, I can't tell how nimble it would be as it looks damn fat! More like MTB kind of fat. I know Tarmac is pretty agile and nimble so I best kept my money for sl5 hmm.gif

That is the sole reason why they stilll use BB90 which is to make a wide downtube to handle the torsional loads from the BB section... the tubing shape is not a worry cos it's still very thin at the end of the day.. it's not like a whole solid chuck of carbon there or something like despite looking chunky...

handling wise, it should be no slouch.. if you take the domane, then maybe cos the fork rake is different if i am not wrong...

and the ride should be quite tuned out as they use a ride tuned seat mass to kill out the road buzz...

the fat fat fat frame make me thing that the bike is heavy but it isnt. it is more suited to gorilla rider like cavendish, greipel, imo. but the thing is schleck looks ok on it. just toying with the idea of getting a trek as the ultimate bike..but perhaps better wait for the legendary sl5 rolleyes.gif

ya..perhaps same bike but lighter and stiffer. what else can be for future development if not those two things. it has to be better than SL4, else there'll be no enough points for people to choose sl5 over sl4.

haha. that's why they have marketing department la butthead. they'll come up with something else. "lighter and stiffer than the sl4 and nothing is lighter and stiffer than sl5 u geddit?!"

for those training hard, listen to your body. better still, get a proper training book especially if you are training on powermeter else it'll be just an expensive meter, that's it.

Too much of heart streanous activity can lead to scarring. so HR is still the best way to save you during a climb. if you only watch your PM, chances is you may die of heart explosion. kapoof hmm.gif

ok, let me recap...

you want it light, but not so light...
you want it safe, but not necessarily too safe
you want a 3T, but actually not a 3T...
and then you want a black white zipp being colored by a black marker pen...

so, in summary, you want a white zipp seatpost that is colored by a marker pen black and then labeled 3T which is not really that light and may or may not break and sprsbtsx you... .am i right?

frankly... i dunno wat seatpost is that loh... it's very the confusing me...

that's like saying i want to order a plate of chicken rice, but i don't want the chicken or the rice... i just want the plate...

that is just sick dude.. rclxub.gif

off the bike for months, yesterday went ride with the uncles..had to grasp for air..my HR all in z4 already just to maintain 30-35kmh. now the problem is..why people want to go really really fast on the flat? there's no enjoyment in riding so fast on the flat

i prefer long slow climb up a very long and steep hills...suffering.
