would be the usually the fork that's carbon. but you're not likely to get carbon anything for a 1.5k price.

polygons used to be seriously good value for money for their 2012 and especially 2011 range. but for 2013 you no longer get decent wheels with the bike.

oic...hmmm..maybe i shud b looking for a used polygon year 2011.. but sometime i noticed tat ppl arent selling it any lower than the original price...inflation i guess.. tongue.gif

4k+ would be on the safer side..

polygon has very cheap price point bikes.. practically unmatchable value for money... go give them a look first.. if you have more to spend and want other brands... you think about it then...

alrite..maybe will settle with polygon....thank you...will have a look around for the entry-level model.. smile.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

was told that a trainer can be stressful for a carbon frame at the spot where you clamp it in, especially when you put a lot of power into the pedals. is this true?
*
it is recommended not to do that lar... but carbon are stress tested to such a degree... by the time any damage is done.. you would have changed bikes already...

it's just a safety precaution... like wearing helmet.. you might not crash... but you want it there just in case...

the reality is... no one wants to sell at a loss.. and no one wants to buy over-priced...

so, to tell you that getting this and that bike gets better resale value... total BS...

jus prepare to sell it for peanuts at the end of the day and you won't be disappointed when you do so...

else, there is new choices like hasa that popped up and rumor is the pricing is very cheap... aster at velocipede also very cheap... but it depends if you trust those brands...

the point is... try not to buy something to cheap and then spend a whole chunk of money upgrading it... i know a lot of people actually buys those 8 speed 2300 equipped polygon and then later get a 2nd hand 105 group from bbs to upgrade their bikes... it is cheaper at the end of the day but i don't see it as cheaper by a lot and you end up with 2nd hand parts hanged on your new frame... kinda nonsense to me...

for me, i either spend or i hold and spend later...

actually, if you have a bit more... like 5.2 to 5.5k ...merida has some carbon ride lites in tiagra 10s spec that sells for around those price... and @ 7k... i believe you get a slightly better frame in team colors with ultegra...

and i noticed even litespeed 105 not sure l1 or m1 can be had for something like 6k+

DA BB with upgraded bearings... not sure if for 7900 or 9000... forgot to take a shot of the jockey wheels... you'd be surprised by how freely they spin... makes sram blackbox pulleys looks like it had sand in the bearings...

yup... it's not as hard as nokon... but not as easy as conventional cables and housing...you better make sure your bike shop knows what they are doing or you will have problems with the installation and sometime down the road... they didn't make the liner that well and needs some added work in order to make it work properly which is not shown in the installation guide...

290 is for a set (most likely shifter) in undiscounted price

just to go velocipede and they have it there... they are the ones responsible for bringing it in... they are even listed in the aligator site...less than 400 can settle the whole cabling system...

just bring your bike along and let them install it... just tell them to find a way to flare the liner at the shifter end...

what is the price on the a6?

if one were to aim for ultegra.. better make sure it is at least 11 speed already... and most ultegra bikes of 2014 will most certainly be full ultegra because it will be 11-speed...

actually, i'd rather take the a5 with 105 and save a bit of money.. most likely more than 1k and invest on a pair of better wheels...

and if you can jump slightly higher... i believe the carbon a7 can be acquired as well...

This wan question...a noob like me can answer as it is not related to technical bike stuffs.
Let me illustrates a bit.... Suppose you buy CNY fire cracker manufaturer A and Manufaturer B, C for the same amount of marnee, let's say .50 sen per pop. Which ever of the choices gives you the laudest bang is the better 'bang-for-buck' choice. You wan the loudest bang for your hard earned marnee....Now you get it?
