I think higher latency, higher speed ram is better. icon_idea.gif
Wrong.
Lower Latency + Higher Speed gives the best result.

bro has your reviewer come up with the results of your 4GB kits?
Not yet.
I'm going to pass him the ram tonight. smile.gif

I see. Let see if it can go 800Mhz or more with CL3. That'd be a great deal and a new start for the 4GB kits RAM's.  nod.gif
No offence but your expectation on those Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB Kit [2X2GB] is too high. And i'm asking you to please don't do that.
Like i said in my topic, it's a 4GB kit which is using 2X2GB sticks.

Don't put too much expectation to it.
800MHz CL3 can only be achieved if the ram is using Micron D9GMH.
However, Micron D9GMH is not made for 2GB sticks. It's only made for 512MB & 1GB sticks.

Again, i myself as a seller of those rams is asking you please to not put high expectation to it.
Please make an understanding that those rams are 2GB sticks, not 1GB or 512MB sticks.

If you want 800MHz @ CL3, buy Micron D9GMH chipset based ram on 512MB @ 1GB sticks. 2GB sticks is not the answer.

He asked me when should he do his review, i said nevermind lar, do anytime you want, as long as you complete it. tongue.gif

He will also get a free Thermalright HR-05 IFX from me for free after that review is done. thumbup.gif

Two buyers of mine told me that the Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB Kit can easily go to 1066MHz @ 5-5-5-12 @ 2.1Volts.
They haven't try increasing the vdimm to a higher voltages though.
Plus, they're not crazy oc'ers, they're only mild oc'ers. tongue.gif

Let's just wait for my reviewer, he's a hardcore in overclocking rams. brows.gif

I predict to be somewhere DDR 2 1130,5-5-5-15@2.2v.
Wrong.
Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB Kits [2X2GB] has broken the GSkill record.
One of my buyer has done 1150MHz @ 5-5-5-15 @ 2.35Volts. lust.gif

Proof:
http://www.putera.com/tanya/index.php?show...=0&#entry670300

However, he's just a mild oc'er.
I'm still waiting for my reviewer to be done with his review. He's the real expert in overclocking ram. thumbup.gif

i would suggest somewhere around 1250Mhz at cl5 @ 2.4-2.5V, since crucial does make rams which are very nice with the speeds. smile.gif
1250MHz would be a lil bit high i think.
I'm expecting a maximum speed of 1200MHz. Or maybe somewhere near there.
But if it could go up to 1250MHz, hey, what the heck, that would even beat the Geil Evo One 4GB Kit record. laugh.gif

coz i did read the putera thread and one guy did say that just using 1 stick did give 1200Mhz... so given the odds, if 1150 is easy, i would give a modest 1250Mhz.
No lah, he [the putera guy] misunderstood that part.
They guy who overclocks to 1200MHz isn't using 2GB sticks.
He's using the Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 2GB Kit [2X1GB], not Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB Kit [2X2GB]. smile.gif

Ble reviewer ko nk kasi result?  hmm.gif
Tatau, aku taknak paksa dia.
Lagipun dia student lagi, kot kot ada test ke, exam ke, quiz ke.

Biar la dia nak buat bila bila pun. smile.gif

Tunggu la review tu kalau tak caya, aku leh confirm mmg tak bleh. tongue.gif

800MHz @ 4-4-4-10 tak cukup ketat ke? hmm.gif

By the way, mmg confirm ram tu leh buat 800MHz @ 4-4-4-10. thumbup.gif

Crucial 10th memang terbaik tapi 2GB plak.
Remember one thing.
Crucial 10th Anniverssary rams has been announced as EOL. [End Of Life]
So, there's absolutely no warranty from Crucial for that ram anymore.

The only warranty you'll get is from the distributor who brought that ram.
However, think about this, should if your 10th Anni go dead, and the distributor has no more Crucial 10th in their stock, what will happen to your 10th anni?

Choose wisely.
Plus, look at this price comparison:
Crucial 10th Anniversary DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz 2GB Kit [RM290] X 2 Kit = RM290X2 = You need RM580 to get to 4GB
Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB Kit [RM390] = Exactly RM390

RM580 - RM390 = RM190 differences.
You'll be wasting RM190 just because you want to get to 800MHz Cas 3.

Honestly to me, that's a real waste of money.

Cas 3 or Cas 4, you won't really feel the differences.

Remember what goldfries said:
"Having bigger size of ram at stock speed is always better than having smaller size of ram at high speed."

At what voltage?
I don't think you can do that with stock voltage liao. hmm.gif

Yeah. Have to do 2.13V to get stable.  sweat.gif
Exactly.
And that means, your ram will die faster.

The Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB Kit [2X2GB] can do 800MHz @ 4-4-4-12 at only 1.9 ~ 1.95Volts [Different motheboards needs different voltages] and it's stable.

Valuerams is only made to run at 1.8Volts which is the stock voltage. And it's also warrantied only at 1.8Volts.
Crucial Ballistix & Crucial Ballistix Tracer rams is made to run at 1.8Volts ~ 2.2Volts. And it's also warrantied at 2.2Volts.

Which means, if your crucial ram dies at 2.2Volts, you don't have to worry about RMA. smile.gif

The reviewer will be opening his topic soon.
It's kinda a turndown though.

He only manage to overclock the ram to 1158MHz @ 5-5-5-15.
I was hoping somewhere near 1160 ~ 1180MHz. sad.gif

However, it's still better than GSkill. tongue.gif
Cheaper too! thumbup.gif

sorry to ask..how much max vdimm for tracer 4gb can use for 24/7 setup?i mean wont harm the ram blush.gif
2.2Volts.
However, you better provide some active cooling for the rams if you love your rams.

The new revision of tracers is a lot cooler then the older revisions. But still, it does produce more heat than the Ballistix.
So if you love your rams, find some good active cooler for it.

iirc the team dark is not d9 chip...shud be promos instead....

Xtreem Dark=Promos
ProMOS is not available on 2GB stick.
ProMOS can only be found on 512MB & 1GB stick.

Thus, the Team Xtreem Dark DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB Kit is not using ProMOS.

You can say that on Dominators revisions that uses Micron D9GMH / D9GKX.

Other Dominators revisions, crap.
