1GB and 512MB ... that's a lot of difference.
it's a single piece 1GB module isn't it? it should show up as 1024MB

LOL....
I guess maybe there's something wrong with the SPD programming.... but the interesting thing is that... the SPD timing is very similar to Hynix DDR2-533 CL4 modules is there by any chance to test those to run at DDR1000 CL5-5-5-1 @ 2.2Vdimm? i c....so by right its just the programming rite...and wouldnt be a big problem rite...i tot i just got cheated by the company who supply the ram to my office...
anyway to test ur suggestion the dell optiplex mobo wont allowed me to change the vdimm...guess might need a better board... but anyway the brand name is Advance Modules and assembled in malaysia...they r supposed to be malaysian based company and listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited on 19 September 2005. heres the mainsite... http://www.advancemodules.com/memory.htm anyone ever heard or used em or better yet oced em?? more info on em: "The history of the Group started when its wholly owned subsidiary, Advance Modules Sdn Bhd commenced operation in 1999 as a contract manufacturer of memory modules. Today, the Group manufactures OEM products for multinational corporations such as Infineon Technologies AG as well as manufactures its own proprietary brands of memorymodules, which are marketed under "Advance Modules", "AM Plus+" and "AMV"." QUOTE(irenic @ Aug 8 2006, 09:19 PM) elpida chip is good, but better if u can get micron. Is it all micron ship will be marked with a single brown dot at one of the edge?normally elpida chip is marked with a 3 dot at the edge of the ram chip. while micron is marked with single brown dot at one of the edge. I have 4 sticks of Apacer 512mb DDR2-667 here. All of them with a "dot" on the left bottom corner but somehow I din see "micron" there..... Please enlighten me. |
