I got at least two friends never like phone above 4.5" screen, for them it is too big. They are hunting smaller high end spec phone, if this Z1 mini is same using S800, it will be their dream phone.

That is old, post before, I am the owner of Z Ultra before and now Note 3 user, I can pretty sure both run same smoothness in 4K video not as that video show. It looks like it run under S/W mode and we don't know his hand is what version. The dialog seems is Thailand and Thailand version is Exynos 5420 not S800 which not support H/W acceleration of 4K video.

20MP lossless digital zoom one still kind of ok, the 8MP one is not that good. I think for normal user is good enough, it is third best zoom in phone camera now, and possible much usable at outdoor bright day.

Overall it still far better than any digital zoom at phone which crap and useless.

I base on the algorithm Sony did, I feel that is close to Z1. 1st one is yellowish which is 1020 symptom, 2nd seems sharpening much which is Samsung favor on processing photo.

Sample 2 is not heavy noise issue, I can immediate know which is Sony one as Sony got different algorithm processing method and it is in a bad way. I seen, I know it sure from Sony.

All this year Sony photos output from Z, ZL, Z Ultra and even Z1* using same method, once you zoom in, you see it. As long Sony continue use this processing method, Sony photo output can only be good but not fantastic! Dunno whose idea on such algorithm, it is totally wrong.

* I got snap using 8MP and 20MP during tryout, both using same bad algorithm.

I think QX10 and QX100 also same since it is from Sony, the photo is end up process by Sony apps. I can't test this yet as I don't see any shop got demo set to play with.

In general, same lens process by others manufacture can getting even much higher and better result. That the reason why same camera sensor lens use by XiaoMi Mi-2s output is one step ahead than Xperia Z.

That white white dot is not noise, is Sony algorithm issue. Sony fail on that part badly.

Actually that 8MP still can see but not that obvious. I believe due to Sony make better way processing on that, 8MP shot got similar way of Nokia Lumia 1020 in 5MP. The different calculation make the photo look better.

But I still believe if this Z1 sensor give others manufacture do, either XiaoMi, Lenovo or Samsung, the result will be huge different!

You point out on Nikon, Yes! Nikon use Sony sensor but always produce better result than Sony.

Sony got great sensor in world but lousy software processing group in world.

Anyway, Z1 is still one of the gorgeous camera phone, and the best so far release by Sony in year 2013.

During comparison I post, I not even post that 20MP one, haha!

Ya, once crop, the symptoms is appear for 20MP. Possible due to this? the lossless digital zoom here not good?
