QUOTE(noelneb @ Oct 12 2013, 09:06 AM) Been using Z1 for a day now after successfully 'cut-over' from my GN2. Battery life is as good as GN2 IMO. Running for 24 hours uncharged and still left 10%, with 3G on and browsing FB, twitter, instagram etc. Feels very snappy and overall response is real fast.. Using Niikin SP and case and it feels great.. And waiting for my magnetic charging cables to arrive.. sorry, by 'lemon' do you mean the yellow tint screen? It does heat up faster than GN2, and I do feel the 'hole' which the indicator light is located could be a potential 'dust collector' if constantly put inside the pocket. Yes, mine is a 'lemon' device but its not a big fuzz to me which many forumers were hotly talking about this in the previous thread. As for camera, I think needs some time to play around with it as it is not so useful for noobies (tried a simple shot at night with auto setting and lots of 'noise' occur). Wish the magnetic dock cable could be longer as it cant reach to the power socket. Woopss.. I think i mentioned more 'cons' and 'pros'. haha.. But seriously speaking I am quite happy with the phone now. Being a Sam user from S2 to GN2, it was a good platform change after all. If there is a wishlist I could put, I wish Sony will solve the 'lemon' problem, then I would be a serious happy camper. |

QUOTE(speedfamgirl @ Oct 12 2013, 05:30 PM) Finally bought the Z1 today, purple set at Sony Centre, Plaza Merdeka, Kuching. My first impressions: - OMG what a beauty! all of these internet review & stock photo never do this phone justice! it has to be seen by real naked eyes & physically hold the unit to appreciated it! - it doesn't weight as heavy as i though, evenly distributed among the size, using the keyboard to sms is a lot better now on 5inch screen coming from the Ray, in fact it still cant be hold comfortably in 1 hand for daily operations. - wish camera & power button could be bigger. - music playback with internal speaker not as loud as ZR even though ZR is much higher waterproof rating...sound quality better than Tablet Z (based on my recent Sony gadget purchased). i believe ring/call sound is satisfactory. - decent camera only feel warm quite fast after few shots. - NO yellow tint detected! screen is normal with a little on the warmer side just like Tablet Z quality. easy on the eyes. - washout display? i dont think it's that much of a problem anyway....too exaggerated by some people. i dont know if they always look at their phone tilted at 10-15 degrees angle. whatever floats your boat... what's next? - after i got connected there's an update already LOL but i dont do it yet, still taking my time to read the 1st page on what should i do. - root the phone! - this would be my 2nd phone for whatsapp & facebook on the go as i plan to get Maxis sim for it. currently using it wireless. - act as camera first, phone later Sony, truly making me believe again I got a big box with dock bundled. other offers are 8GB memory card, back cover & lousy front sp, bought the Sony powerbank 3500mah for 89 PWP. Asked whether cradle for Tablet Z is in stock but seems like the product never existed....c'mon i've been waiting for months! it is a true beauty to be seen and hold personally to really appreciate it! |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 12 2013, 10:39 PM) That is the manufacture issue, Sony can't proper control in auto mode, that already lost don't care how great they are. hate to admit it, but i think andrew got a point here. auto mode is what most user will use in a camera phone. No point comparing in manual adjust as that is not what most user will do and it defeat the purpose of phone camera for easier usage point and shoot. well, i got no note3 and so no comment whether note3 camera better than z1 or not. maybe jloi and Andrewtst can meet up and do a camera showdown between note3 and z1! |

QUOTE(lyk @ Oct 13 2013, 01:13 AM) Just bought a black set... It seems the screen having yellowish hue... :-( ... First five digit of the serial number CB512... I guess serial number start with BH has been sold out right? actually, to me it's just that the screen is tuned to be more on the warmer side. i don't think this yellow hue thingy is a defect at all.warm white tends to be easier on human eye as compared to pure white. take a look at all the major shopping complexes. i think 95% of the shops use warm white light instead of pure white. why? cause pure white will strain our eye faster than warm white. example is watson shop. they use pure white light as compared to other shop. u'll notice that it looks brighter but do u feel comfortable being in the shop for long? |

QUOTE(Davatara @ Oct 13 2013, 12:32 PM) ohh... yeah, that's 1 of the reason i don't like samsung as well... the overall feel of its interface looks too colourful and cartoonish to my likings...well, as some bros here suggested, just bring your note3 to any sony center and test the z1 kau kau and compare it to note3. and alot of users in this thread have already highlighted all the pros and cons of z1. at the end to change or not, solely up to your own judgement |

just did some photo comparison of my z1 to my aging acro s
though both photo shot at different day. but it's shot at night in my room, with cool white light bulb (yellowish white). so, lighting condition should be similar both shot using auto mode. acro s 12mp while z1 8mp. 100% crop at the head portion. overall satisfied with my z1 camera. it manage to capture the actual lighting condition (yellowish) and sharper images random nightshot This post has been edited by ckchan: Oct 13 2013, 03:42 PM |
