QUOTE(mattemily_85 @ Aug 25 2010, 11:50 AM) wanna ask senior in at here.... Yes. Some dogs do.does a pom will lost their appetite if they have "kutu" on their body? now i'm facing a sick probs which my pom currently keep on scratching her body and found quite lots of "kutu" what remedy i can do to eliminate all the blood suckers? URGENT reply needed. I think the best way is to put on frontline and then if you could maybe shave the Pom so that you got the chance to see if there still any bloodsucker on the body. Good luck with that. :-) |

QUOTE(Divas @ Jan 14 2011, 09:51 PM) If pet shop people have advised you against it then i really wouldn't. Very true.Small females more often than not have huge huge problems during both pregnancy and whelping that can very easily become life threatening (especially if you are not experienced with breeding). Usually you want the male to be smaller than the female and the female to be closer to the bigger end of the breed allowance. This is before you even consider the danger the puppies will be in once they are born (assuming nothing goes wrong before then). Because of your female's small size, even if she only has a litter or 1 or 2 puppies, she has very little reserve energy and nutrition to support them, especially towards the end of the pregnancy when good nutrition is vital to the puppies. Their is a strong possibility that they will be quite small due to lack of space and nutrition and may need intensive care after they are born (trust me, it isn't a fun experience). I understand your wishes to have puppies, however consider the safety of the dog you already have. Are you willing to risk her life to possibly get a puppy or 2 from her? You also need to consider what will happen to the puppies once they are born and starting to grow up. If she happens to have 4, or 5 or 6 where will they go? Are you willing to screen potential new owners to ensure they will care for the puppies properly? I hope you understand that i am not trying to be harsh or horrible, i simply don't want you to make a decision you regret (i know people who have lost their dogs during whelping after i told them their dog wasn't suitable to breed, i have also experienced difficult whelpings, deformed, stillborn puppies and puppies lived less than an hour outside the womb before dying in my hands. Puppies are great fun but all to often pregnancy and whelping is most definitely not. I think you already know what the right thing to do is from the advice you have heard from the shops you talked to but if you need any more info on breeding and all the things that can go wrong let me know and i can talk you through them all in plenty of detail (notice i haven't talked at all about the necessity to show your dog at confirmation before breeding or what makes a responsible breeder vs a back yard breeder, this is because although both of these things are very appropriate, the medical risks alone are enough to discuss here). Thanks for the neat and clear explanation. QUOTE(proleepg @ Feb 8 2011, 07:28 PM) WISHING EVERBODY:- Mr Lee, you got very nice dogs there. Envy. QUOTE(proleepg @ Feb 27 2011, 08:54 AM) Hello Wayne, nice to hear fr you. Hi Mr.Lee,It still needs a lot to improve my poms quality. I am lucky to have some good quality females from Indonesia years ago that produced and improved my stock. Thanks to the breeder in Indonesia. Actually, you are the one who really improved so obviously. See your stock now. It's so much different when we newly started our program with poms then. Your survey, hard work and of course the amount of capital you pour in shows results now. Congratulation! We should get in touch more often. Have a good day. Thanks for the compliments. Now I'm still working on line, trying to get those bloodline that are stable in breeding. :-) Breeding Pom is hard, but breeding Show Pom is toughest! Keep in touch! |

QUOTE(Shenay @ Apr 9 2011, 01:24 PM) Hello people, just wanted some advice. My pom is now 10years old and he used to have a mild case of Patella Luxation. Recently, he sort of hurt his leg a little badly compared to before Patella luxation is always a health issue for Pom. Normally if it is grade 2,3 and 4, will need surgery. Best if you could bring your dog to the vet for check up. But I don't think a lot of vet out there in Malaysia do this. But in US it is very common. QUOTE(proleepg @ Apr 30 2011, 12:01 PM) Thanks.
