my sis previously also got the same problem like this, but she's lucky enough to caught the attention of VW Malaysia GM. Try this, spam their FB with comments, and also check their website and e-mail to each and every dept regarding the complaints.

Hope it work out for you as well.

wow sound like a lot of work, but can we know what VW Malaysia GM's response was, curious and would be good as experience sharing hmm.gif

TS: There is no point arguing with VW anymore, raise the case to Small Consumer tribunal. Very high chance you will win, there have been many cases with cars before. Just make sure all your repairs by VW is properly documented as proof.

Few years ago, VW topped the J.D Power survey. Not anymore.

This is sales satisfaction index (SSI) study, i have commented in that article

Energy Analyst on Oct 01, 2013 at 11:15 am
this is SSI. it is about Sales experience (from visiting the showroom to have the car delivered)
Please read CSI August 2013 which to me is more meaningful as it measure the after sales service.
http://paultan.org/2013/08/15/j-d-power-af...es-in-malaysia/

And who was that at no 2---VW!!! just behind BMW, above T&H , mind you this survey is also from JD power , Aug 2013

Thanks for reminding us that this JD Power survey is bullshit.  blush.gif

you think so? actually to me it is simply because SSI and CSI are 2 different area and a car brand that score high in Sales Satisfaction ( delivered by sales agent, etc.) may not necessarily score high in CSI (delivered by service agents, etc.) Also the score /and placing varies y-o-y, so it is important to monitor it. FYI, JD power SSI & CSI survey/study for Malaysia is in its 11th year now (2013)

e.g. look at Nissan brand
2010 Nissan is no. 3 in SSI but 6th place in CSI
2011 Nissan is no. 2 in SSI but 7th place in CSI
2012: Nissan come up top no. 1 spot in SSI (and they were happily advertising it) but the same year its CSI is only at 5th place
2013 : Nissan SSI dropped back to 2nd place and its CSI is 8th place! (not bashing Nissan just quoting example here)

VW first appeared in Malaysia SSI in 2012 at 4th place but not in CSI the same year. It appear in CSI only in year 2013 with reappearance in SSI 2013

(Ford brands also first appear in both indexes in 2013 but not years before that)

Why ? because JD power typical surveyed on a sample size of buyers , e.g. the 2013 CSI study is based on responses from 2,772 new-vehicle owners who purchased their vehicle between February 2011 and May 2012 and took their vehicle for service to an authorized service center between August 2012 and May 2013. The study was fielded between February and May 2013.

So, as a colder brand , VW although included in the CSI studies but were not ranked in 2012 , 2011 and years before due to small sample size found on these brands. You will find Peugeot brand has yet to make its Malaysian debut appearance in both indexes due to the same reason.

Looking back in previous years result, you will find even BMW and Mercedes only start appearing in CSI in 2011 but not in 2010 and the years before that

So perhaps VW has 2nd CSI placing in 2013 because its buyer who purchased VW between February 2011 and May 2012 and took their vehicle for service to an authorized service center between August 2012 and May 2013 were happy because facing less problem --may be their cars come from manufacturing batch that has less defects, so the question now is to look at 2014 CSI to see buyers of June 2012 to may be Sept 2013 and see whether that same CSI is held high up there.

and if SSI of 2013* is a tell tell sign to what will become in CSI 2014, a drop of VW at SSI from 4th place 2012 to 7th place in 2013 is not looking good.

*The 2013 Malaysia SSI Study is based on responses from 2,622 new-vehicle buyers who purchased their vehicle between August 2012 and April 2013. The study was fielded between February and June 2013.

... i had my fair share with VW. I had my car tow twiced. Changed my mechatronic unit which i was really unhappy because i was a very careful driver.

you buy a car, it is under warranty, you get it fixed and life goes on. apa lagi mau?

VW are in the spotlight because of the amount of cars they are selling and the amount of end users. Therefore i am not defending VW again but then when the volume arises defintiely they will be more complain and more breakdown compare to other car brands. Again, just so you know VW used to be under car trade and their dealership was revoked due to numerous complains.

End of the day, i do not defend VW service in Malaysia i had my own fair share too trust me.
*
so are you saying consumers can make a difference in influencing VW to continue or change their local dealership to the more professional complaint handling dealers. ? (if i am reading between the line right? if that is true, I fully agree) but just curious, in your opinion who are currently the better local VW dealer? curious if you don't mind sharing...

Definitely we as the consumers at the end of the day are kings. If we don't buy their product their wallet will hurt and they will need to reflect on it. I have my fare share of terrible customer service from VW untill the extend i wrote letters wrote all the way up to their then MD and also CCed a copy to then german ambasaddor and VW germany.

On the matter of which local VW dealer is better i would said each of them have their bad apples but then i heard Win Hin Balakong is quite good. But in my case i go to the nearest SC to my house for major claims and etc at least you know you can check and monitor your car easily just in case.  I would like to say it is the relationship with you and the SC that matters most.

I believe they will be matured enough to know the biggest room in the world is room for improvement

any way except VW which has a bad JV/Tie Up with Suzuki
all other Germans has been forming JV with Japanese and that is all done in the open

e.g. BMW with Toyota

http://www.bmwcoop.com/2011/12/01/bmw-offi...al-with-toyota/
http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/29/bmw-toy...ev-partnership/

Daimler with Renault-Nissan

http://www.daimler.com/dccom/0-5-7153-1-16...-0-0-0-0-0.html

and this even with Ford

Another Victory for VW eh sorry it is 'VW LAW' rather, by Germany (yup, you are reading it right VW law!, there is such a thing )

In its 2007 decision, the EU tribunal overturned the VW law (after European Commission took Germany to EU Court becoz of this VW law) that protected Wolfsburg, Germany-based Volkswagen by capping shareholder’s voting rights at 20 percent, regardless of the size of their holdings. That matched the stake held during the previous four decades by the German state of Lower Saxony, where Wolfsburg is located.Lower Saxony is VW’s second-largest shareholder after family-controled Porsche Automobil Holding SE with a 20 percent voting stake. Labor representatives account for 50 percent of the 20 seats on VW’s supervisory board.

European commission, which won the 2007 case, sued Germany in 2012 again over its “piecemeal approach” to changing the law. The EU executive authority wanted Germany to pay a penalty of 31,114 euros ($42,560) a day from the 2007 ruling until it complied or until the ruling in today’s case, plus a 282,725-euro daily fine from today’s ruling until the VW law was compliant.

The commission returned to the top court to argue that Germany’s overhaul of the VW law, which shielded Volkswagen AG (VOW) from takeovers since 1960, continued to violate the bloc’s rules because government veto powers at the company still existed. Instead of scrapping three provisions that were earlier ruled unlawful by the court, the country abolished two and kept the blocking minority, the Brussels-based EU regulator said.

Germany escaped fines and defeated the European Union’s regulator after the bloc’s highest court said its redraft of the so-called Volkswagen law doesn’t clash with EU rules.
Germany’s changes to the VW law “complied in full” with a 2007 ruling, the EU Court of Justice in Luxembourg said today, rejecting the challenge by the European Commission, the bloc’s executive authority.
