Higher cost to leave them unsoldered then to just solder everything in one go.

Yar, KBC/Vortex made boards like to tutup the holes one.

BTW, becareful when desoldering the presoldered copper plate, very easy to detach the copper plates if not done using suitable tools.

Not too sure on how does the wave soldering process is done.

But Plum can make their PCB with LED holes not soldered, so I guess it isn't too hard to do so?

from my own experience and a few others on geekhack, those who prefer blue switches will definitely favour stock clear switches.

from blues to brown, most say it feels too soft, too little tactile. stock clears are actually not too heavy, and if you are used to blues, the tactile as almost as strong and obvious, only quieter. brows.gif

You mean, from blue to brown, they are identical, just quieter?

Anyway, thinking to sell of my Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 and get a Shine 3, but does it worth it? I want a keyboard with big wrist rest.

what are the proper tools?
wick or solder pump would be more suitable in this case?

brown is different since it does not have the click stem and sound. from blues to brown you will feel much softer with no click.

blues to clears, very nice, almost as same tactile but no click sound.

the shine 3 has standard keycaps, you can pretty much swap them all with any custom keycaps out there. quality is far better than BWU and the wrist rest can buy seperately; many designs and material available.

you need a good, hot soldering iron with a solid soldaput to make sure the solder melts quickly and sucked cleanly from the copper track.

yeah, i got myself a soldering station (not hakko) which i used to desolder my keycool and all 104 switch from a Das keyboard with the aid from a solder pump sucker. but i saw that some of the solder just cover the lubang with very little bump. i was wondering if wick would be more suitable here but i know if it's not used properly, might cause damage to the pcb itself...

I'm not really into MKB but I just want to get something that I can use for long time. Can you show me where can I find and see the pic of the wrist rest?
