Maybank 2Cards

I checked on P1Max, they only accept Visa or Mastercard. If I go for Maybank 2Cards, which one is better Visa or Mastercard? I’m sorry coz I never use cc in my life  sweat.gif
*
the only difference is on the promotion offered by visa or mastercard respectively.

for eg:
- visa has 12% discount for purchase made at agoda on wednesday.
- mastercard has 10% discount for purchase made at lazada on monday.

there are more different promotion (than listed above) which you need to check for yourself.

1. Annual Income: RM48K-RM60K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Petrol, Insurance, and Cash Back/Rebate

4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybankard 2 Cards

5. Looking at CC from:

6. Others: Currently satisfied of using my AMEX card, but I need 1 more Visa/Master credit card that have more rebate for some places doesn't accept Amex. Was looking at OCBC Titanium, but the card no longer available.
*
1) ocbc blue/pink 1% for everything (unlimited cb); no special requirements for the 1%
2) aeon watami 3% for everything (except petrol) (rm150 max cb per quarter); need to spend minimum rm3k per quarter to activate the 3%

Thank you.. appreicate your help...

but you need to pay attention to each card's t&c. for example, hlb wise's >rm50 x 10 times per month to activate 10% cb and aeon watami's minimum rm3k spending per quarter to activate 3% cb. if not, the cb is 0%.

I see a lot of recommendation for maybank2 and uob one but maybank charges gst 100 annually and for uob 60 swipes r required?      Any other card which don't require a lot of swipes with cash back? Also, for online paypal transactions in USD, does the bank charge under sell tt/od or currency notes?
*
aeon watami doesn't need a lot of swipes. but need to use min rm3k per quarter to activate 3% cb.

[Hi,

If I wish to apply credit card for monthly petrol RM100 only , shopping estimate RM50 only, e-commerce with hotel booking and e-ticket (overseas), and travelling may be once a year.... which card is suitable for me?

my salary < RM 40k.

Is it ok if I use Maybank 2 card (amex n mastercard) n combine CIMB cash rebate gold card?

Amex = use weekend on petrol and shopping.

Weekday = use CIMB ...

Travel use either CIMB or Maybank master card or maybank debit card.......(transaction charges = 1% ) , Amex 2.5% so better don't use right.....

Hotel & airline booking use CIMB /mastercard??

Example if I need to pay RM3000 permonth for online transaction.

a)If use Amex pay all Rm3000, cash rebate =RM50, rewards points  = 15000,right?
b)If book hotel use Amex pay RM2000, cash rebate = RM50,rewards points  = 10000
Then use CIMB CC (mastercard) pay RM1000, cash rebate = RM30,no rewards points??

Actually I am newbie to cc, is CIMB CC 5% cashback only apply to weekend? If e-commerce also apply to weekend ,then at least more optional.

Thanks biggrin.gif
*
what you need to also consider is whether the petrol/shopping/e-commerce merchants (which you targeted) accept amex or not.

also, monthly 5% max cb for mbb2cards is rm50 (but unlimited tp). monthly 5% max for cimb is rm30 (but no points). mbb 5% cb applicable to weekends only but cimb 5% everyday.

hi,
so,actually i was thinkg to apply both mbb n cimb .(free annual frees)
n now cimb apply online can get rm150 rebate.after minus Gst still hv rm100.

btw, if the min payment per month stated  is rm50. is it mean if i only have outstanding Credit <rm50.00. then i cannot clear my credit balance until accum credit till > rm50.00.
then,they wil charge interest?
thks
*
when come to payment, you need to pay statement balance within 20 days from your statement date. paying only minimum amount will incur interest.

Hi,

So, example, if I get statement date on 30th Sep. I need to pay by latest 20th Oct , in order to get free interest.

And,
a)For MBB 2 gold
>Minimum monthly paymentRM25 or 5% of outstanding amount

--> as long as I make transaction > RM 25 per month, and pay within 20days from statement date, I should be free interest and can use online Maybank2U to pay.

And MBB can used treat points to offset GST = rm100 per year.

which means for light user CC (just for petrol and light shopping) , still no win or lose.
b) For CIMB cash rebate gold card

Minimum monthly payment =RM50

---> so, I have to make transaction > rm 50 per month, in order to get interest free.

And, I have to spend at least RM1000 per year for online purchase (in order to offset GST RM50/year)

Thks
*
1) if you spent rm500, you need to pay full rm500 within 20 days after your statement date. paying just minimum amount will not incur late charges but still will incur finance charges.
2) if you didn't spend anything, you don't have to pay any minimum payment at all.

if that's the case, ocbc blue/pink is your last option. 1% for everything, no af, no hidden t&c (no cb allocation), and no special requirements to get the cb (no minimum swipes & no minimum amount).
