Sorry, off topic. RM600 a month for insurance? for someone who earns less than 3k a month, that's a lot of money. please tell me you are paying insurance for other people, that makes sense, otherwise, are you sure you want to dump 25% of your income to insurance and barely have enough savings?

Insurance should not be counted as your 'savings'.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 17 2014, 02:33 PM)
That was my first thought as well... sweat.gif
Even I'm earning more (around 2.5x more) but I only pay RM 250 per month for my insurance to complement the insurance I have from my current company. RM 600 is a lot actually. sweat.gif
*
yeah, that's a lot...

but surprisingly my own insurance is around rm850 per month (since at least a decade ago until now) when my annual income was just around rm24k that time...

*
yeah, it's better only if your insurance is ge with premium more than 2.2k each to be converted to ipp. not only free ipp but you will also earn additional 0.1% rebate if not mistaken.

between uob one and hlb wise card which is easier to use ? noob friendly.
*
for noob friendly, of course is uob one. but must take into consideration that uob petrol rebate is based on 900k monthly allocation on first-come-first-serve basis. usually the allocation is finished by 13th of a month. after the allocation finished, any further petrol transaction will be 0% cash back.

as for hlb wise, you need to maintain minimum swipes of >rm50 x 10 times (posted in a calendar month) in order to activate the 10% cash back. if fail, your whole month's transaction will be 0% cash back. but there is no allocation, meaning that you will confirm to get 10% cash back on whatever you swipe in the categories which you have chosen.

It's additional feature to convert your GE premium to IPP without charges. Other than that, remain same.
Nope, no additional 0.1% rebate.
*
just checked that it does offer 0.1% rebate but only on auto-ipp...

0.1% rebate on Auto-IPP spend
(effective 9 January 2014)

Earn 0.1% rebate on Auto-IPP transactions. Rebates are automatically credited into your card account, and will be reflected in your monthly statement.

3k per q... i cant meet this as my monthly AIA DD is around RM500, about RM1500 per q.

any other cc that i can take advantage from with AIA monthly DD ?

i know OCBC offer 1% cash rebate but try to earn more than that. tongue.gif
*
3k per quarter for anything. just move your other 1.5k transaction from your other cc to this card every quarter.

e.g on watami aeon card :-

1st month spend 1K
2nd month spend 1K
3rd month spend 1K

add up 3K per q, so qualify for 3%, the 3% cash back will be 3% over 3K spend = RM90 ? or cap at certain amount ?
*
yes, correct. it also can be 1st month spend 0, 2nd month 0, but 3rd month 3k.

cap at rm150 = maximum rm5k per quarter for the 3%.

1. Annual Income: RM60K - RM80K
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably Yes, but if got fee, around RM150 is max (of course, lower is better)
3. Card required for: Usually for dining, some petrol, some online purchases (i.e. from eBay), occasional flight tickets & hotel stays.
4. Existing credit cards if any: Citibank Clear
5. Looking at CC from: no particular bank.. but I was looking at Citibank Cashback / Aeon Watami / Maybank 2 Cards / OCBC Titanium before this.
6. Others: Was thinking of moving to a cashback card, or a card with fairly good rewards points scheme. Usually my spending doesn't go above 1K though. Also would like it to be recognized internationally (which was why I opted for Citi in the first place).
*
citibank cb mainly good for petrol, while aeon watami good if your spending above 1k/month. so you are left with mbb2amex 5%+5xtp (limited to weekends), while ocbc tmc 1% everyday. if you can wait to spend on weekends, then go for mbb2cards.

Going to cut my HSBC card. My husband was primary card, and im holding supplementary. Is using the card since more than 5 years. My husband already cut his last week due to the card been misused for unapproved online transactions. Immediately go to bank to cut. Now looking for a new card.

1. Free Lifetime Annual Fee - preferable. OK if the bank free waiver for min 12 swipes per year as well.
2. Purpose of the card - online transactions, utility, dining, insurances, etc EXCEPT for petrol and groceries as we are holding HLB Wise card for 10% cash back for these two categories.
3. Does not looking for those travel or enrich programme cards as we hardly fly with those. Usually fly with budget airlines.

Reading at the first page, looks like Maybankard 2 AMEX is good for local daily transactions? Any advise? notworthy.gif
*
can consider aeon watami too.
