Context: For a typical consumer Streamyx account, TM assignes two /64 subnets, one for the PPPoE interface and a second one for the computers in the LAN. Some preliminary things I have seen with the stable version of Barrier breaker. https://miku.hatsune.my/cf/di/RMCG/screensh...11_18-20-53.png https://miku.hatsune.my/cf/di/Z11Z/screensh...11_18-21-54.pngThe firmware is now able to assign the second /64 to the subnet now, just like your typical Innacom modem router does. Problem is, even when my PC is assigned an IPv6 address, there are no route from the computer to the router. No connectivity problems though to the Internet. When I have time I will see why though. That's because of the MTU problem, it is too high and need to be lowered to something like 1432 or something like that.

1492 will definitely cause connectivity problems. 1280 is OK especially if you have Android smartphones connecting to the network.

QUOTE(wKkaY @ Feb 5 2015, 08:09 PM) I used an MTU of 1492 just fine... with all sorts of devices. I suspect that the problem that some of you face is broken residential gateways that don't clamp MSS to MTU correctly. I think it's best to avoid MSS clamping, it's a hack anyway. If your RG lets you set the MTU in Route Advertisment messages, try that first. Then your devices on the LAN will natively use an MTU of 1492 and work end-to-end without any clamping. Setting 1492 in routeros' RA does not work. Facebook will not load at all and videos in Youtube will not stream. Lowering it to 1420 or something like that, makes everything fine.

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Feb 8 2015, 03:24 AM) i have a rb250gs, can i use 1492 ;_; safely ? my configuration is btu > rb250gs (switch) > e4200 v1 (router) > pcs.... PS: youtube on pc doesn't stutter. but on android it does.... not really sure why It is probably a router-level config.

QUOTE(rioven @ Jun 24 2015, 03:54 PM) Hey thanks..i think I got my IPv6 on mikrotik based on your example and IPv6 over PPPoE RouterOS v5-10. Somehow I have to (manually) adding a publically reachable router address, is there to do automatically if my IPv6 address change? Remove the manually added router address, and then add a new entry that can be configured dymanically when the /64 prefix address changed as shown below.

QUOTE(rioven @ Jun 24 2015, 08:31 PM) Thanks again..will try later. Try to figure out why ::1/64 doesn't work in my mikrotik, most of example I read using ::1/64 will do the trick ::1/64 should've worked too in theory. QUOTE(ikhwanZulkefli @ Jun 24 2015, 08:45 PM) okay i got that figured out. so now this normal that mine avoiding the ipv6 usage? [attachmentid=4499871] It may be browser's quirks. Firefox usually acts that way in my experience.

You need to reboot the router to make it valid, or make the entry first before activating the DHCPv6 client.

QUOTE(zkteh @ Oct 23 2015, 12:29 AM) asellus, so you suggest ipv6 user to use OpenWRT? any idea on dd-wrt working on TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND? I searched high and low and just managed to find this method (flashing V3 firmware on a V2) http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php...tlwr1043nd+ipv6OpenWRT is better for IPv6. dd-wrt is doable, but far more difficult.

QUOTE(zkteh @ Oct 23 2015, 11:46 PM) Could you provide me some tutorial links to flash and configure OpenWRT to my TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND V2 to support IPV6? I found this, but dunno if it will works with the latest OpenWRT, as one of step requires me to press the QSS button but V2 doesn't have that o_O update : okay, that's for "fail-safe" http://klseet.com/index.php/202-openwrt/op...tory-to-openwrtoh yes, can you also provide me with the latest OpenWRT? TQ. The method listed at http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr1043nd shpuld work, I used "Method 1: via OEM firmware" to do it. You should really read everything carefully there though.

QUOTE(zkteh @ Nov 27 2015, 07:20 PM) I am concerned about the default qos engine/settings. Is the ping good when the traffic has p2p/downloading/upload things. Cause the stock firmware doesn't work well with default settings. Highly likely it doesn't. Then again, I have not experiment with OpenWRT QoS that much.

It is just me or that TM now gives a fixed second /64 prefix (the prefix for LAN, not the prefix for PPPoE).

QUOTE(marcus_bread @ Apr 7 2017, 05:46 PM) Hi is anyone know whether i can use D'link DIR 815 as my streamyx 8mbps router (being a wifi router only). this is because my current modem router's wifi signal is very weak. You usually set the D-Link to AP mode.
