if you read the link i posted a few pages ago, KKW's problem is with the grey area of the launcher menu, not the blue wallpaper, if you don't zoom it, you can see a faint yellowing line, this defect was quite common during s2 era

u using any cover? if use cover the heat wont really have any feel, the heat usually is at the camera area just hold the sides of the phone not feeling lo, anyways if this is first smartphone, just to tell you the heat is a normal thing, we get this topic in every single phone nowadays.

notice the arrow pointing up "^" at the bottom edge of the camera view during landscape or the left side edge during portrait?

that wakelock is related to your Email app, the one with red colour @ in the icon. Did you press sync and leave the device to sync email while the screen is off? or did you only set up the email before you sleep? this wakelock doesn't appear for me and i've been using email app since s2. It is something related to the sync which may be pull or push depending which email you set it up with.

iphone chasis is perfect but it is susceptible to scuffs and also poor assembly. there were a few cases and even one of my friend his iphone 5's side came off, looks more like didn't glue properly.
