Hello fellow Teitoku. I've been playing this game for about 3 weeks already, all thanks to my pal Neo for getting me the account Figures I should come here and join the small yet growing community.

So far I've cleared 2-4 (just yesterday actually!) with the fleet above. I suppose CNY luck got to me in time The first 1st week has been hard simply because I had no luck with BB nor CV while people around me were flaunting with their full fleet of BBs while I had to "make do" with only Maya, Chikuma, KTKM-sama, Isuzu, Yuudachi, and Chiyoda .

Until I got my Nagato from a #yolo construction session last week; I literally burned through my steel resource completely (and getting 5 Sendai sisters in the process before my last attempt with only enough remaining steel for 1 more try finally net me Nagato). From there, it's smooth sailing and more BBs (all four Kougou sisters starting with Haruna and ended with Hiei) and CVLs came to my humble dock.

So after clearing 2-4 last night with my 3rd attempt of the map, I was so excited to explore World 3 during my CNY break when DMM slapped the API change, which pretty much broke my fav Kancolle Viewer (lucky it didn't happen when I was clearing 2-4 though )

Back to slower and less informative VPN-route then....need to look for fast private JP vpn provider :/ I miss that "Spoil me!" function on the construction panel.

Perhaps it was 'fixed' after series of maintenance yesterday? Let me try it then.

I wouldn't be surprised....the frequent authentication for thousands of user would have put a lot of stress on the server

I suppose they would find that it's not a feasible counter-measure. I hope the guy who suggested that lived the day

If only you've been to C85...the amount of Kancolle stuffs over there...wow. Even the big companies didn't miss out the opportunity. Thanks to them, I've turned into a full Kancolle feg in matter of months

yep, my maiden journey there. and will definitely return again one day. you should have seen the inside of our luggage bags

same here though, it pretty much went up to the level of my interest to vocaloids. and kancolle really took the world by the storm. Less than 1 year and yet so much recognition, and I don't see it's dying down anytime soon.

I loved military vehicles since I was a kid, especially aircrafts (I wanted to be a fighter pilot lol so innocent back then). Then it led me to naval warfare, with aircraft carriers, F/A-18, submarines. I even have novels about them. So it was an easy transition for me to love Kancolle (and Arpeggio of the Blue Steel! ). I'm still trying to warm up to tanks however *cough*WoT*cough*


Let's say I brought more than 100k yen worth of bills JUST for spending (air tickets and accommodation paid upfront), and that's still not enough. In the end I have to swipe my card for the last few purchases Then again, I brought home 20+ CD albums and dozens of doujins and tanks...so yeah

I've read about the map on wikia...what average level of the fleet you reckon I can safely venture there?

Yeah it's scary how fast Kancolle has grown onto me. But I suppose I have a bit of regret for not joining the fun earlier...look at all the events I missed

Oh yeah, are you guys using KCV or just normal browser? The debate of using KCV/custom app vs normal browser after the recent API thing got my attention. Seems there's a lot of animosity towards KCV, and especially Commie patch. The way I see it though, KCV is just a harmless tiny app that just display the data sent from the server in a convenient fashion; it doesn't actively communicate with the server (no extra traffic/stress) and doesn't manipulate any data. But I suppose people got wary since that incident. What's your view on it?

At the moment the API refresh has been uplifted, so it's back to the way it was before the latest update . But people are still panicking and wary that DMM and Kadokawa may still be targeting them in the future, especially the official twitter post warned something about using third-party program or custom browser that may increase server load/tamper with data. However, some feel that this warning is mainly targeted to the cheater/hacker/botters, and program like KCV is actually pretty harmless. But of course people are still being paranoid, and since KCV, and to further extent, commie's patch, is such an easy target, they lashed out at those.

On the other hand...

As far as I know KCV uses IE cache. What I did is just increase the cache size to 1024MB as recommended and so far it has been a smooth sailing with KCV. There isn't any noticeable lag, and at least as fast as my flash projector or browser. Not to mention the information window pretty much remove the need for me to switch between the in-game panels to check on the status of things since KCV keeps log of the info from your last visit to the individual panel. It's really a boon when you're managing 4 fleets and 2 expeditions and need to monitor the repairs and fatigue from continuous sorties

Oh and with the latest update, they've implement notifications for w7

20 hours is a boon as compared to 90 minutes. I don't mind logging once a day.

Yeah I suppose commie did stir the beehive...though we can't be sure if the recent updates are directly related to them, or perhaps it's a long overdue countermeasure against the actual cheaters (you know, like those teitoku putting 46cm main guns on their loli destroyers ). Only time would tell how things will proceed from here. I'd like to keep my hope up that we can play relatively calmly. I never heard of sanaechan so I couldn't comment that.

I also wonder: is stage rollover refer to how they gate the login after each maintenance i.e. letting people in batch by batch?

I missed getting this because I got to their booth late.....and it was already sold out. And you know how much they jacked the price up in Mandarake? 12k yen...12,000 yen....TWELVE THOUDAND FREAKING YEN for a artbook that would only cost 2k yen at most if you buy at C85. I forever cursed myself for missing it.

No, I just dragged the window size as I see fit, like how you drag a normal window to change the size. Oh, don't use it on full-screen/maximised mode, or you can't adjust the window size.

Well my mastery of moon runes are not high enough for me to use the original ones...but hopefully one day I would be able to play the game, and also other Japanese games, in their original language. You can say that Kancolle and also Love Live SIF serve as a platform for me to get to know more kanji
