no need VPN, ordinary proxy is sufficient, been using it for 2 weeks.
If you somehow encounter error like "service not available in your area" after refresh the cat picture, just do this:
1) close the "service not available" error window/tab
2) go to "www.dmm.com", it should show Japanese
3) click to kancolle and enjoy again.
