Don't trust the wiki completely, take it with a gain of salt and just use it as a guideline and tune it for your needs.

I would say E1 should be easy enough for new players becuz of Iona is just that OP. (maybe try either all SS fleet but I use Iona + 5 BB)

It was a mix result cuz of the pre-boss node was annoying as hell. I have better luck with South(Maya) node than North(Kirishima) node but my fren with lower level fleet of ships than me had better luck with preboss node with Kirishima and cleared E2 much more cost efficient than me (I used IONA, TAKAO, 2BB, 2CLT)

The wiki says don't use Iona, Takao and Haruharu together cuz of the high repair and refueling cost. I didnt do that but I cleared the map with my last 4K fuel (I used, IONA, TAKO, HARUNA, BB, 2CLT)
What advice would I give?
Gather as much resource and buckets for the event so you can reset your fleet fast for the next sortie.
I also find myself that my Fog ships deals more dmg to enemy Fog than even my best equid normal ships. Hence why, I bring all of them with me
I dont think my method were the most effective use of resource. I burn thru ~25K of each resource + >100buckets (75% on E2 thou )
So try it slowly? since the boss health doesnt regen and I feel like the game might adjust the difficulty based on your HQ level
Last one, I use Line Ahead when I think I can wipe the entire fleet or I want eliminate the enemy like a boss node
I use Diamond formation when I know the node might be a CV/CVL heavy fleet only
Line Abreast is use when I want to deal with SS with my ASW fleet or when the goal is to survive the node to move to the next node, not kill the enemy of that node
I never go into Night Combat unless I have a specific reason to, like boss node with a high probability of winning

This event is already quite easy compared to the November Event...all the sleepless night I had tackling E-4 and E-5 respectively last event (boss bar regens). This December collab event the boss don't regenerate HP (which I assume the devs don't want to put such madness at the coming of the new year and all, perhaps lol?)...but those imba beams...ahaha....imagine if their HP actually regens...then it could have been even tougher...so glad that hp doesn't regens lol...I was so mentally scarred the last event around....

being on different server doesnt mean much except the difficulty of monthly top500 rankings (example, a few days ago the top1 in Rabual manage to get 400points while my server Tawi-Tawi was abt 200+) Older server has more experience teitokuｓ with better rosters. The devs did think of aloowing server hoping when the friend/social system was ever going to be implemented. But as of now, PvP-ing is with other teitokus of the same server only but allowing server hoping might undermine the leaderboards since it is server by server basic and not global ranking

Actually someone managed to get past E-4 with a lvl 30 BB flagship using 5 lvl 1 DD sacrificial ship method to sink Henderson-chan....but this method was so cruel that it even caught devs attention on twitter that they might implement a death counter for every ship daughter sunk....that maybe probably punishes that teitoku with perhaps unfavorable RNG rolls for high death counters.

...when desperation starts to creep in when you have downed E-4 boss bar to half and could not down the boss bar anymore due to sudden successive unfavorable RNG all of a sudden and boss bar starts to regen back.....resources and buckets running low...and you don't want to feel wasted for all the efforts for nothing.

And that's when some of us turned evil....

A lot ppl played the event maps for the rare ship drops
ditto. It more out of desperation. In my case, I already reduce the HP bar but last kill must be reduce Henderson-chan's 500HP to 0. But I was out of resource and I was going to be away for the weekend. In the end desperation sets in but RNG hated me and never allow me to finish Henderson-chan off. So, I was away for the weekend and I return back with a fully regen HP bar.

The event still scars me

Well got all the CVs except Zuikaku and Taihou....most of my rare ships are drops....my luck isn't so good at crafting....same here, just piling up resources for the next event. Probably once I have 6 digits resources or after the next event, I might want to do some LSC as some of my previous LSC didn't yield much of a success.

What paid VPN software are you using by the way? I am currently still using the Softether VPN. If the fees are reasonable might want to get a secure paid vpn too.

Well, it's a small exploit but not a strong bannable offense but I do it quite indiscreetly as in not spamming F-5 too often...or either that I just closed the browser and some time interval before I do it again. Steel is like bauxite isn't easy to get through fast expeditions....like the 1:30 for fuel and ammo or the usual 30 minutes for bucket and ammo.

Well, unfortunately no such exploit for bauxite in any of the maps....with Battle of Midway coming soon.

Torpedo Light cruisers are damn OP. Historically wise, Naka was never remodeled into a torpedo light cruiser....but if she does somehow, we will have another OP CLT in our ranks and it will be the fleet idol, Supa Naka Chan Dayo lolol.

I think he meant Hibiki 2nd remodel to Verniy. Which is based on historical fact that Hibiki was converted to a Soviet ship after the war

...but Kiso has better anti air capabilities compared to the other two and seems more all rounded. Her torpedos stat aren't that bad and still capable of one shotting almost anything unless I am missing something here? I really am not too sure Kiso is that nerf actually besides the reduced torpedo stats....but increased AA.

The reason CLTs are OP is because of their strong opening torpedo attack, very decent firepower in day battles and their incredible firepower(rivaling those of BBs and CAs) in night battles.

I using not using a commercial VPN but borrow a server that happens to have a JP IP address. The only thing that I'm getting out of this is that I'm the only person using the IP at any given time

I would prefer Strike Witches style as well. Since I burned all my resources to beat E-2 last week (had barely 3k resources when starting the event), now I'm working hard to restock. But pretty slow though since I still lack of the 4th fleet (thanks Kongou for avoiding me for whole month at 3-2-A), so a month away will be good. Plus need to grind my Hiei, KTKM, Ooi, and Yuudachi to kai-ni.

The difference is that we are sharing IP address with other people as well, I think. I am too exactly sure about whether they assign us different IP address or the same one whenever I am using Softether. Anyone who is familiar with networking or Softether can probably shed a light on this.

But seeing how many people are actually using Softether....very likely we are sharing the same IP address.

Kongou can be pretty hard to get lol. She too was the last of the ships I get in order to unlock my 4th fleet. Keep grinding 3-2-A and she is bound to show up. Soon.

The internet is running out of IPv4 address and it expensive to give everyone a dedicated IP when exiting from a VPN tunnel.
Even some paid vpn are shared IP but it depends on the use case. Most of the time, it is not a necessity to have dedicated IP. Hence why this practice.
Not entire sure on how softether operates. But generally, it shouldnt be an issue but when a general service is use by many for a specific reason than the operator on the other side would think something malicious is happening becuz a lot of traffic is coming from one source.

Its not a VPN software in and of itself. I'm only route my traffic by tunneling to the server thru proxy connection on the browser
