Hi, would like to ask about the online passport renewal. Just wondering if it's possible to use back the same photo as in the existing passport? Coz I still have the softcopy of the current photo, but worry that later during the collection they see this and reject the new passport.

1. Apply online, submit/fill required documents and go to VFS in Menara MCA for Biometrics and submit passport upon approval. You will get online status notification from Canada embassy in stages.
2. Visitor VISA cost CAD100 per person or CAD500 per family (1 fee per family of 5 or more people)
3. It varies but the entire process took me 3-4 months. It could be shorter or longer but I suggest you buffer a little more time to manage any delay.

My sister's visa application was rejected early this year (to attend our niece's wedding). She graduated in Aust and is working in Msia. They did not say why it was rejected.

Any tips on getting a visit visa for 2-3 weeks there?

Apply online, fill in the form, pay the fee (how much), any need to do bio scan, visa application duration, what documents to provide, etc?

1st time applied in 2019. Unfortunately didn't get to travel due to covid lockdown and it expired as it followed the expiry date of passport. So reapplied again in 2023. 2nd time didn't required to do the biometric thumb print again as it last for 10 years after the 1st one done. Just need to submit all documents/ information required when doing the submission online. The your IRCC account will show the status of your application and will tell you when to handover the passport for the VISA. It took about 1 month to get my 2nd VISA.

I went to Australia 2 years ago.
As I remember, the fee was only about AUD 20–25.

I plan to go next month, I submitted my application:

1. Filled out the application through the Australian ETA app.

2. Paid AUD 20 online.

3. Received an email confirmation of payment and said the ETA outcome letter will be sent to my nominated email address within 72 hours.

Immediately after that, received another email asking me to provide further supporting documents (passport, bank statement, etc.) and a link to answer about 20 pages of questions:

When I tried to submit the online application, a pop-up appeared asking for AUD 200 as the total application charge.

So my question is:

1. Is AUD 200 (on top of the AUD 20) the correct amount?

2. Is this a legitimate website? If yes, since when did the Australian government increase the fee?

3. I’m afraid this might just be a scam website.

Any advice what is the next step here ?

The website is legit, I just tested and able to login to my account. But I think you might applied to the wrong visa (Unless they change it again recently).

I just went to Australia Melbourne early this year with my family and I remember it not that expensive as AUD 200. Maybe double confirm the visa type or code you applying.

And yes, all those questions and supporting document is correct as well.

Edit:
After you register via the mobile apps, you should received a copy of email attached with PDF, there you can check what type of visa you're applying. Tourist visa will be subclass 601.

AUD 20 – for using the Australian ETA app (stay up to 3 months)

AUD 200 – for the Visitor Visa (subclass 600) (stay up to 12 months)

In my case, since I will only be staying for a couple of weeks, should I delete my current application and reapply for the correct one?

U only need to pay $20 and use the link provided in the pdf asking for supporting documents to attach your documents. It shouldn't be asking for more payment if you following the steps in the pdf

When I submit the photo of my passport, it automatically populates the "given name" with my full name. The "surname" is left blank.

As far as I recall, it is the opposite for the Aussie ETA application.

I know that I couldn't make any changes for the Aussie ETA whereas I am able to do so for the Japan digital service.

Can anyone with experience advice if I should delete my surname in the "given name" field and insert it into the "surname" field? If it is relevant, I do have a first name and chinese name.
