This is a complaint about tkwfriend and his bulk under `Memory, Drives and Media" The actual thread has already been deleted. But other related threads by tkwfriend still exist.

This is gist of my complaint.
I purchased this ADDVA Card as a COD under tkwfriend's terms and conditions: 1 to 1 exchange. Lifetime Warranty. No doubts.
But his 1 to 1 exchange took more than 2 and a half months and it was replaced with another faulty item. Acceptable or not?
He also promised to refund, but did not, even after breaking his own deadline.
However, what gets me hot under my collar is that he thinks this matter is just a small one!

woundxp ,for shop they need to sent back to master reseller then sent again to distributor .

Distributor shld have a lot of stock tongue.gif .

I remember tkwfriend claim himself is a distributor ,so it shld be faster.

Off course sometimes stock might be late also due to unknown reason and stuff ,but Addva is a Singapore Company (I think only officialy available in S'pore only also ) .

Anyway , as we noticed in his post , he got many other of stock , why he dnt provide u top up and get other memory card or smtg like tht ,u shld ask him properly , and now since u complain the exchange card is slower and also got problem ,so tht meant is not consider : 1 to 1 exchange. Lifetime Warranty which he stated clearly in his T & R .

next time buy with me, if tested is manufacture defect, will 1 to 1 exchange immediate within 1 year. tongue.gif
but dun think memory card easy spoil, may b u r the 101 ppl, i see tkwfriend sale long time memory card seldom see ppl complain or say spoil, even my DNA memory card also, sale long time, juz hv icyoke hv problem, but also 1 to 1 exchange to him after check, u can ask him.

i already file a complaine to them. i am just a distributor but not the big one. i had already told you what is happening. the first batch of 150x is the best batch after thta i do not know what happend.

anyway if you want to complain you just complain.i dun care but i will still d my part to get you done

And after 3 months of doing your best and telling me what is happening, your solution to me is another problematic SD card for my money. And after you promised a refund.....

It seems that my complaints are as useless as your 1 to 1 exchange + Lifetime Warranty + no doubts promises. sweat.gif

when buying storage cards maybe u can go for better brands like sandisk and kingston? i also ordered a 2 gb sd card (not from him tho) and prefer a better brand for more reliability..chapalang brands sometimes give u headache

Thanks for your advice. I have bought and used many other brands too without problems. And I don't doubt that many others have bought ADDVA without problems.

My complaint here is not about the card. It's about the way tkwfriend executes his promises.

Addva is quite a ok brand ,not consider super champaklang ,off course cant fight with Kingston ,Sandisk those big big famous de ,but I believe can fight with Adata which is quite famous in Taiwan also.

Anyway,I am not flaming ,but here to advise u go to ask Addva settle faster , they are in S'pore only ,its not right for u to let the end user waiting as u r the seller (if u r doing it by bulk ,I will understand ,but u selling quite long for Addva product ady ) .

I am not a very brand conscious type of person. If a product works as promised, I will use it. Even better brands like Sandisk can fail.

If you don't mind reading the spoiler in my 1st post, I have listed the sequence of events as they occured, including his promise, in his own words. Please feel free to ask him whether he made this promise to me.

Unfortunately I can't deal with Addva direct. I have no warranty from them. In any case, judging from what tkwfriend says, this product has a known problem to them, and they have discontinued it.
And if that is the case, it is only proper that I be given a refund to settle the matter once for all. But tkwfriend choose not to take this action, even though he promised to do it, and I have given him ample time to do so. Instead he is asking me to wait indefinitely until he has the time to deal with this `small' issue.

tkwfriend, please post your new reasons and plans openly in this thread instead of privately by pm.

You have a good opportunity here to explain/defend yourself and also to deny my accusations without any prejudice.

I am sure your old and new potential customers would also like to know how you deal with your warranty promises.

within 1 year? i'm also a DNA seller n if buy from u n u only wanted to be responsible for 1 year, y dont u all juz look for me? me lifetime warranty lolz.. n 1to1 exchange next day after u pass me ur spoiled memory card (working days)

is it that difficult to actually exchange a faulty item??

tkwfriend, do u want to to risk your entire reputation and loss of potential customers just becoz of a faulty SD card? many of ur potential customers r bound to bump into this thread...and if they read of ur shoddy services and empty promises (as claimed by March05), i doubt they'll be getting anything from u. not even a safe trader tag can save u then. just solve this problem and continue on with ur business.

that means no refund shud given..mayb its a lil fault by him to say he wanna refund though...

Good point, low yat 82.

One reason why I posted this complaint is to give tkwfriend the chance to clarify his meaning of 1 to 1 exchange, Lifetime Warranty, No doubts. Now, other sellers seem to think that 1 to 1 means a replacement of the item immediately, and some think it's okay to do it within a week.

I would like tkwfriend to indicate clearly what timeframe his 1 to 1 exchange covers, for the benefit of past and future customers. And what is Lifetime warranty since he is planning to stop dealing in this range of products very soon.

However, in my case, he gave me the impression that the exchange would be immediate or nearly immediate. He replied my pm on the 3rd of March 2006 indicating that he would change it for me on the following Monday, the 6th March 2006. But he failed to do so. First broken promise.

he told me he checked it in a rush - it worked in his pda rclxms.gif - that's his idea of quality control. I sure hope ADDVA has a better method.

I would like to highlight something which may not be evident to a few of you. tkwfriend has practically admitted to me that this product has been discontinued i.e. ADDVA has stopped manufacturing it. The final batch(es) turned out defective - see his own post #6 here. tkwfriend himself has stopped selling it. Under the circumstances, how can he give me a replacement that one can be sure is not part of the unsold batch of defective cards? Just because he says he's tested it and found it good? After a string of broken promises, how can I trust him or his products anymore?

That is why I requesting him to refund me (as promised) in full to settle this matter once for all. I do not see the logic of wasting more of my time testing potentially unreliable SD cards for him. I have instead spent some precious money to purchase another one from another nice seller in LYN. Works as promised, no problems at all from day one.

PS. Unfortunately, now that he's lost his invaluable ST Tag, he probably won't bother about settling my complaint. sad.gif

Actually, the general assumption when you're told 1 to 1 is that you'd get a replacement right away
That's because the only reason for sending something in for warranty claims and waiting is for the manufacturer to check if the item is really spoilt and whether it can be fixed
If its a 1 to 1 exchange since the begining, why would there be a need to try to fix the old unit?
