QUOTE(faifaizai @ Jun 26 2010, 03:09 PM) sad case.. more irritating is the control.. dammit.. the turn turn thingy is just so lousy.. cannot last long.. mine spoil after one month or so.. until now i also lazy to send to ban leong to claim warranty.. actually the performance improve significantly if i listen to CDs instead of MP3s.. time for bose companion... But i think 5/7 volume is too high already, plus if you boost ur bass setting, then distortion is unavoidable. I think at mid to low volume is still a decent speaker.

QUOTE(faifaizai @ Jun 26 2010, 03:18 PM) true enough but then i'm kinda crazy bass aXs.. and once a week i'll boom my room down with B.E.P. If such case, next time when find speaker, find the large diameter sub speaker, Altec speaker sub is too small adi, even premium max at 6.5" (actual size <<6.5"), when the box itself is quite huge, is a shame they just put in small driver on that, i really doubt it can cope with high power, driver always the bottleneck in PC speaker.

QUOTE(beggarmaster2000 @ Jun 26 2010, 08:05 PM) nowadays altec cut cost give u china or taiwan rubbish inside cause they wanna compete with other cheap brands like edifire and sonic gera so to solved that problem, simply just replace the subwoofer output capacitor, the samxon or capson to some better quality ones, if i'm not wrong the sub cap has the value 16v 220uf for those that run tda73XX. i think can use same trick for the yours very big diff!! If can solved by just changing cap, then everyone here can become engineer adi... For distortion problem, even u change to 100Billion Farad cap also useless.
