I reckon Alan Hansen would fit right in to today's team whilst someone like Tommy Smith would struggle with the pace of the game. I kinda like football in the old days where the sport was played by men like the Anfield Iron who has tough as nails. As Bill Shankly put it, "Tommy Smith was not born, he was quarried". He'd let you know he was in the game early on by going in hard and you'd better not let him catch you messing with any other lad in a red shirt. Often scared 10 shades of shite out of his opponents. Those that haven't should read is bio.
A Sunderland win, it should be an expected result if we are serious about staying close at the top....altho every match in the BPL wont be an easy ride, but looking at the current situation, a draw would be a travesty by BR....Looking at Sunderland, they are rather disjointed atm...managed to caught a glimpse of their play against crystal palace..i must say, their attack is abysmal...lack of direction, no target man and no attacking thrust....the only positive about Sunderland is their ability to retain possesion albeit clumsy at times...defensively they are vulnerable in the middle...not to mention their gk Keiren Westwood is overrated, nothing to suggest he got potential to be a top keeper...with Suarez returning, i'd say no chance Sunderland....
Yes, Adam is lazy in the pitch, and his tackle is no brainer. He can't defence and he can't track back due to his laziness and low speed.
But I must give him some credits for his impressive long passes and crosses. His set piece is pretty impressive too. Although it only happens once in a while.
Suarez is an amazing player but Ian Ayre has a point. He represents Liverpool Football Club and his conduct on or off the pitch reflects upon the club. There is no possible way that any of us can condone what he did to Ivanovic. The club comes first and Suarez needs to grow up and realise that. He is responsible for his actions, no one else. He needs to mature, do away with the antics and focus on what he does best, play football. The club has always stood by Suarez and he owes it to us to behave. IF he doesn't he should be reprimanded if not by the manager, then by the management.
I don't think anyone hates Suarez because he's good. They hate him because he constantly whines and remonstrates whenever an opposing player brushes into him though he has showed some restraint since. This is where I'll give him credit. Doesn't go down like he's been tagged by a sniper these days.
he gives his all, he loves football.
problem is we don't really know if he did what he did to get us to "sell" him. maybe.
As in any professional, what ian says is true. Very often players forget that, it's unfortunate, however all is not lost.
