QUOTE(w_lun @ Sep 24 2013, 05:26 PM) Caught in between 433 and 4231. miki ryan is more to AM than CMWe lack of deep controller to operate under 433. Like what you've said, Gerrard doesn't control games through tempo, and Lucas on the other hand is not that type of DM who dictate the tempo of game like Gundogan/Pirlo/Xabi. A passive ball winner he is. B2B midfielders wise, we have enough in quantity but not quality. Guess that's why BR wanted to sign Mkhitaryan so badly. Could fill the gap under 4231. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Sep 24 2013, 06:03 PM) i dont see any reason why BR wont play a full strength team. Possibly more to do with the possibility of injury. I mean we lost Toure, Cissokho and Allen to injury in the tie against Notts County. A title challenge is more important than a league cup win, King Kenny found that out and Rodgers can ill afford to falter further at this juncture of the league competition. I reckon he'll rest some key players. Losing to the mancs in the league cup at Old Trafford isn't the worst thing that could happen and I'd like to see some of the young uns get a competitive game under their belt. Would like to see Ibe and Alberto given a go. The former in particular has looked impressive for the U-21s. afterall, next match only on sunday...just enough rest for the players. |

But if losing at this weekend at Sunderland that the only team without a win after 5 games, then it is. This post has been edited by cherroy: Sep 24 2013, 08:43 PM |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 24 2013, 08:43 PM) Wow, I do not know that. Back in the day the League Cup had a little more prestige, just like how the UEFA Cup was more valuable than today's Europa Cup. Point is that today, the League Cup is a competition where most Premiership sides field their reserves but this was not so before. Hence, winning it carries very little weight. If it were 2 decades ago, King Kenny might have kept his job. Losing to MU is not the worst thing, I agree. But if losing at this weekend at Sunderland that the only team without a win after 5 games, then it is. Yes, losing to Sunderland would be a disaster. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 24 2013, 08:43 PM) Wow, I do not know that. thats cos di canio was at the helm.Losing to MU is not the worst thing, I agree. But if losing at this weekend at Sunderland that the only team without a win after 5 games, then it is. now its a rejuvenated sunderland and as expected, its been revealed that the players undermined di canio to get him sacked...expect a good game this sunday... |

The prize money for league cup is 100k which I doubt is enough to cover suarez one week wages. |
