QUOTE(Zephyr_Mage @ Nov 14 2013, 04:15 PM) Wish they would elaborate more on their firmware updates. Feels like I'm updating without knowing what I should expect at all. I took a pic right before i updated (auto non-flash and flash) and after updating. Looks like the auto system will choose lower ISO instead of high ISO (the earlier issue) but the WB is further off for no reason. I will try to upload the pic later.

QUOTE(ulwan25 @ Nov 14 2013, 05:24 PM) It is much improved on xenon flash as Steve the blogger at AAWP and AAS mentioned. But I do noticed that the yellow tinting is still available due to the overprocessed image. Owh well, better wait for Lumia Black, hopefully we'll get more manual controls as opposed to the RAW support. Nope. Those Steve mentioned was the fix in Nokia Camera 4.3.0.8. Not the firmware upgrade. With the latest firmware upgrade, the ISO is even lower than before but it came out more yellowish. Not sure why yet.

QUOTE(mike86 @ Nov 16 2013, 01:03 AM) just got prompt for software update. Anyone updated? Didnt check what's the update for though From my own account (simple tests but not really scientific), I noticed color tends to be more yellowish in photo taken indoor. However, it's fixed by the most recent Nokia Camera.

QUOTE(PVCpipe @ Nov 19 2013, 10:45 AM) ya.... like, when cloudy last time, i take pics for my football team, some of them blur... Blur due to shutter speed too low or not focused? If the shutter speed is too low, can result in two consequences: (1) motion blur of the moving subject and/or (2) motion blur caused by your shaking hands.

QUOTE(PVCpipe @ Nov 19 2013, 03:34 PM) i leave the setting on auto.... n i dont use flash... You may want to start exploring how to use the manual setting. In fact this is the only phone that can change the shutter speed lol. So make good use of it. Normally (to capture static subjects) we practise and find out how low shutter speed can we go before the hands start to shake. You have to find out yourself by practising and see how stable your hands can hold. The longer it is, the lower is the ISO you can set so that your image will have lower noise. The auto setting tends to use very high speed shutter to eliminate shake. To compensate that, the ISO is required to be set high as well...resulting in higher noise and lower dynamic range. However, for moving subjects I notice I have to use at least 1/60 s. But this depends what kind of subjects (human or a car? etc) you're shooting and whether it's lowlight or not.

QUOTE(bl@ze @ Nov 22 2013, 01:28 AM) I think that only saves the 5mp photos though.. Yeap. For full reso photo, no other way. Must plug into a PC. A shame because 808PV doesn't have this limitation.

QUOTE(ulwan25 @ Nov 23 2013, 04:06 AM) Other than the filter and UI, not really. It consumed much more battery than Nokia Camera and it used the same oversampling technique from Nokia. Still have yellow tint in 1020. QUOTE(PVCpipe @ Nov 23 2013, 04:26 PM) can use nokia camera manual setting? Yes it has similar manual setting as Nokia Camera, probably a bit more (macro autofocus). The only thing I do not like about Pro Cam is the battery consumption and the touch to shoot. I prefer touch to focus and shoot in different button due to OIS. QUOTE(neo0915 @ Nov 28 2013, 08:41 PM) Hi all, Just a quick question, do u guys having white balance issue ? Whereby when shoot on white table, the table tends to be a bit yellowish ? Not totally white. Thanks. QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Nov 28 2013, 07:54 PM) "Honestly, I want a phone with better color reproduction in indoor". It's not an issue as long as it's not artificial light. In indoor artificial light something is really wrong with the color that no WB setting can help it. The yellow tint is there. Hopefully they will fix it in next update.

QUOTE(TongCN @ Jan 11 2014, 10:13 AM) Updated to black and perform factory reset, but why the camera megapixel changed? I remembered in Amber it's 5mp + 38mp while now in Black is 5mp + 34mp ? 4:3 vs 16:9 aspect ratio.

QUOTE(ulwan25 @ Jan 23 2014, 05:52 PM) can someone upload 1020 video samples after Lumia Black updates please? I do not have any video uploaded (mobile internet cap..sorry lol). But I can assure you it is still very noisy at low light. My 808PV did not have such issue at all. Sigh.

Some Le Tour de Langkawi shots taken with Lumia 1020. http://www.flickr.com/photos/davidletterbo...57641697658794/A few things to take note: 1) All shots using 5MP mode. 2) I made a huge mistake. This is the first time I shoot anything under bright sun. Because the lightning was harsh (they were facing the sun's direction) I thought the dynamic range wasn't enough and I tried to recover the shadow area by +0.7EV. Turned out that it's the display screen that wasn't bright enough under the sun. That made most shots overexposed. 3) Most of them are PP-ed using Flickr. I don't like L1020's colour (too warm). Still prefer 808PV's colour.

QUOTE(amoslck @ Mar 2 2014, 11:10 PM) Eh how many ISO and setting you use for the dr tour? Looks very sharp. Under the bright sun...even the lowest ISO is more than enough. Even you select auto ISO, it will choose ISO 100.

QUOTE(amoslck @ Mar 3 2014, 12:00 AM) Wow ISO 100 won't shaking and blur? Mine will get echo when zoom in very detail... By the way just got 1020 and play with it and share to u.. No raw. Just took it and add some effect fotor app... I tried not to zoom. The supersampling works the best without zooming at all. BTW, it all depends on the condition. Those pics were taken under the bright sun. So, ISO100 is enough. Shutter speed also very high (at least 1/1000s!).

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Mar 3 2014, 09:11 AM) Under sun light always set ev to 0 first and iso to the lowest possible. First thing to remember do not let the phone decide for you, but u decide how you want the phone to work for you. Shutter speed is practically useless to know. Beside you editing with Picasa your photo looks great Ya. It's a huge mistake. Actually I had to throw out a lot of pics due to overexposure. Thank for your advice!
