Yeah IOI should wait to assess the weekday n weekend crowd in January before building phase 2.

I think IOI City Mall lacks immediate catchment.. the few office/hotels/apartments are not enough to support the shops during the weekdays unlike Pyramid n MV.. Maybe they can rely on college students la.. they need to build high density apartments and not townhouses..

Will it be another Setia Alam at SKVE??? I think so.

I went there today. Even though week day still can see a lot of ppl visiting the mall. I likes the Homepro, a one stop home renovation center & a so called mini Ikea named Index Living which Aeon has 70% share.

After opening of IOI city mall, I would like to say good luck to Alamanda management who used to be proud & arrogant!!!

Can't differentiate km and minute? My other thread mention 40km also you reply as 40min.

Mixing up distance and time, are you interstella?

i agree, it was just the start. They need long run to determine if it is success or not. Alot of big malls also starting good but later cant hold and down the drain. Lets hope this one is here to stay.

But this is IOI, they are so confident and will have the Phase 2 mall coming very soon.. also future development like: Connexion, PAR 3, Clio all will be realize very soon.

a very good example nearby is the Mines Shopping ... it was big back then during their grand opening with Mines Wonderland, Hotel and etc. Talk of that time is Mines will be flying high and eventually they went down the drain until a new management took the helm recent years. Mines 2 just beside is a failure though..

Never doubted them but to say this is a big success just fast few days of opening is abit too far fetched for me. I prefer to wait and see, of course i hope they will make it big. Ease some of the traffic of major malls like midvalley or sunway and we have another alternative mall to linger around especially Kajang/Putrajaya/Puchong/SK residents.

Yup, that's why a few days doesn't justify to evaluate the management team is at their best. Moreover the mall is not in its full fledge with still alot of minor touchups to peak it. Sure hope they will reach new heights in the vicinity, i got a few properties around there le laugh.gif They prosper, properties around there also naik ma rclxms.gif

The best example of a Failed Not Very Successful Shopping Mall with damn good location is Avenue K, just across the street from KLCC.

Good Management is needed from the beginning stage - from design of Mall to tenant recruitment and location

Just look at Tropicana Shopping Mall, having restaurants next to shops selling clothes is a very bad idea

From my first visiit to IOI City Mall - looks very promising from a South of KL Mall

Cheras Sentral will die another natural death.

Visited the place few months back - still a dead place on a weekend save for Jaya Grocer

Too many shops selling spectacles

Just my personal Opinion - don't shoot me

Perhaps after MRT Opens, can survice but then again, look at Berjaya Times Square

Right Smack in KL City - but still nothing to shout about
