The 2nd security check is at each departure gate or centralized (where) ?

and can we still bring shaver (the one with blades) in hand luggage?

TQ
*
If my memory serves me right,

Only International departure has 2nd security check. Domestic doesn't.
Shaver, by standard protocol is not allowed unless it is those eletronic ones (or overlooked by the officer).

seriously, I witnessed them scanning the luggage but looking side way talking to their co worker. that's how tight the security is. but the 2nd checkpoint is usually much more stricter.

No wonder they always assign me to the wing cause not paying for seat  cry.gif .
*
In my experience, NOT always in the middle near the wings.
sometimes before the wings. My last experience, I was assigned last seat all the way at the back, it somehow feels much noisier and vibrated harder during take off and landing. I was wishing to sit in the middle, then.

For AirAsia, if I have baggage check-in, do I need to do Web Check-In?

Or I just walk into airport and check-in there bcoz anyway I still need to drop in my baggage?

Advice pls.smile.gif
*
I supposed everyone is urged to do web check-in because AirAsia says that they will impose RM10 per check-in over the counter.

But if you read the fine print carefully, it only applies to domestic flights.

Any international flight still requires you to get the document checked, at minimal, over the counter. But if you did not do web check in, there should be no fee imposed over you.

So,

if you are flying domestically, please make sure you do web check in AND queue up for baggage drop. If you don't have baggage, you can go directly to the boarding gate with self printed boarding pass.

if you are flying internationally, web check in is still preferred, so that you'll only need to approach Document Check counter (usually not many people) just to be sure your visa is valid and passport is active, just in case.
But if you have luggage, long queue is what you will still have to go through.
In my experience, boarding pass usually is reprinted for you when you are traveling back to Malaysia.

Random check from SIN-BKI and return last week. Bulging roller higher chances.

I think anything that you can carry on your shoulder, they don't really check.

Tried to check-in for a few days already for my trip next week but I was given the seats at the very last row (row 51). Indirectly forcing me to buy seats  sad.gif I have traveled AA for so many times and this is the first time they're offering me such bad seats. May I know if anyone tried delaying the check-in to right before the flight to get better seats? Seat selection is so expensive for AAX  cry.gif
*
I sat at 51 before. other than the take off and landing shakes, louder engine sounds, I think it's still ok. Very near to toilet, convenient. And you can stand up and stretch your legs any time you want.

There are pro and con in the last seats. Save your money.

i didnt buy the check in luggage as i'll just bring a carry on..but im not sure whether this bag fits the compartment..and i cant find the specification for it
im not sure of AA but firefly has really small compartment

i think it's 20' bag
*
For AirAsiaX, as long as you are not seated at row 51 (last row), I think a typical hand carry case is OK to fit in.

is it possible to change the flight time for my trip. I supposed to depart from DMK to KUL at 12.50pm but AirAsia sent me a email/sms to all flight at this time will reschedule to 10am.

What is the meaning of move flight? They mention i can change the flight date with same route (Within 7 days after my schedule time)...if i move flight is it change flight date but still remain 10am flight time or i can change the flight time too.

KIndly advise.
*
You can only change to the available flight (date and time). If they no longer have 12.50pm flight, obviously you can't change to that time. Make sense?

Hi,

Would like to ask : when buying seats, if we did not opt for seat selection and are subsequently allocated less desirable seats, can we then opt for seat selection again to choose/change to the seats we want?

Subject to availability.

Hi guys, one question for those who have experience carrying DSLR. I will be flying to Chiang Mai this week without check in luggage. I have a backpack that will fit in the dimension no issue, but is it possible for me to sling my DSLR on shoulder so that it doesn't contribute to the carry on luggage weight? I have a D700 so it's kinda heavy.

If can't then I will take my mirrorless instead.

Thanks!!
*
Yes, you can.
I carried my DSLR every time!
Add your charger, power cabling, ipad, compact camera, power bank to the backpack also ok.

if i don't choose luggage option when buying ticket i still can bring my luggage with me in the plane right?

which part of klia2 is nice to sleep? my flight is morning and i will reach there the day before to sleep in there. No capsule cuz I want to save money.
*
On luggage - provided your luggage size meets the spec requirements allowed for hand carry

On Sleeping - there are benches where I have seen people sleeping. There are also couches after first security check-in but usually fully occupied.

If you holds credit cards that allows you access to Plaza Premier Lounge, that will be 'nice to sleep'. I don't have any, so not sure how it looks like.

I filled my water bottle after the 2nd security check. The refill station usually just outside of the washroom area. So to answer your question, near the gates. But not all washroom has it.
*
Yea, the water refill station is extremely rare in KLIA2. Grab one when you see it! There won't be another.

Alternatively, there is a sundry shop that also sells mineral water for RM2.50 or RM3 after the 2nd security check.

Since I have already done web check in for my international flight, all I gotta do is to drop my luggage at the counter. So can I only reach the airporl like one and a half hour earlier? Do I queue at the same counter with other passagers who are checking in to drop my luggage? Or there is a special dedicated counter to do so?
*
As far as I know, there are only 2 type of counters:

1. Drop Bag
2. Document check (without drop bag)

The latter is faster and has a dedicated queue.

i have the same question..
if i dont have bag drop.. so i need to go to document check counter as well even i have done my webcheck and print my boarding pass?  ( i remember last time, they need to chop the boarding pass)

please help
*
No, you don't have to, unless you are asked otherwise.

Below is an excerpt from AirAsia FAQ:

30. Can I go 'straight-to-gate' if I don’t have any check-in baggage & I have already web checked in with a printed boarding pass?

If you have received a boarding pass that states "Proceed direct to Security and Immigration" then you may proceed directly to the checkpoint area before proceeding to the boarding gate. Guests requiring a document check will be advised by means of a notice on the boarding pass. You may proceed to our dedicated document check counters for visa/passport checks.
