UPDATE re GY Duraplus Sidewall Plies... 1 or 2?

Me got voice call from GY Msia HQ earlier this afternoon...
Asked 4details & 2provide the DOT info, which gives the tyres serial ref#...
Then me was told he wld get back 2me after chk-ing with Factory ppl...

Got another call abt 30+ mins later...
Was told their ppl wld b coming up North 2moro & if me cld meet them @their Authorized Dealer here.

The plan was 2exchange 2new tyres for those so-embossed "2-ply" tyres....
They will take those tyres back 4further investigation...
Seems the 1-ply (on both outer & inner sidewalls) tyres, are the correct ones...

The "2-ply" ones are a mystery 2them...

Pls wish me luck that 2moro's exchange goes smoothly w/o probs...

ps. Am also wondering if it's worthwhile going thru all that hassle juz for same structure tyres but juz labelled correctly...?

If it's juz a "technical error", ie wrongly embossed info, (as the tyre shop owner concluded) me can live with it...

Btw re the tyres exchange GY is offering me, me hv consulted fmly mbers...
General feeling is :
If GY juz doing so 2"cover up" 4a "technical error", then it's NOT worth going thru the hassle of replacing them (altho for free!)
Me got this set from a trustworthy caring dealer (dealing with him ever since me came here 2work!) BUT me tak kenal langsung the shop me hv been asked 2go to...

That's wat my fmly mbers & frens told me, too!

And confirmation came when GY guy returned my call (he was at a meeting earlier).
Me asked him point blank if there's any fault or difference in the tyre structure or construction/materials, etc.
And esp in safety issues...

His answer?
NO.
Juz need 2take the tyres back 2hv proof of mistake by someone who did not change the mould info for the outer sidewall...and QC ppl not chking more thoroughly b4 release for sales...

So me oledi cancelled the "exchange".

Re belt lube, best is graphite powder. Me hv been using that all these yrs...lasting...
4Other moving lingkages (even locks) a white lithium grease spray helps...it's liquid when sprayed but solidifies on "drying"...better than WD40.

Frankly all these oiling & greasing of lingkages, joints, locks, etc used 2b part & parcel of every service on the car...
However, 2cut down service time, wkshops nowadays skip them!
Unless the customer complains of ?? noises...
Feel it's a small investment 2get such lubricants & go round all such spots @each service schedule...

The oil filler cap seal is not tight enuf & oil is escaping fr it...ckd see oil stain @front of cap.
Mayb...need 2investigate further...
If that's the reason, need 2replace cap?
