QUOTE(romeo57 @ Oct 8 2013, 08:41 PM) Yeah. That's what i asked before. If i root, will it effect my phone, beside the warranty. I don't mind about the warranty anyway. If all ok, then i'll maybe root. Thanks! Yes..should be okay for rooting. But flashing different kernel or custom recovery sometimes bring problem. I sofbricked my phone twice and need to go to service centre. Safest way is either you root and stay on stock rooted ROM or flash custom ROM and use it without tweaking anything else.

QUOTE(romeo57 @ Oct 8 2013, 08:51 PM) Oh. If i wanna flash custom ROM, wouldn't i need a custom recovery? Well, thinking of flashing Wanam or ARHD. Look at that custom ROM thread and follow each and every step. Then you should be okay. If that custom ROM need to be flash via CWM then use CWM and not TWRP or Philz. Like I said..follow each step carefully to avoid any problem. Good luck to you

QUOTE(romeo57 @ Oct 8 2013, 09:08 PM) I see. But after root, what recovery that i can flash? CWM or TWRP? Or look at the ROM i wanna flash and use that required recovery? Cause i know the steps from scratch are, Root > Flash recovery > Flash ROM > Flash other Kernel (optional). Right? I always flash ROMs with S3 and Asus Prime before this. Thanks. Forget bout S3 flashing...with SELinux and Knox combo..everything changed. Using different custom recovery can get your phone into bootloop. Root phone then pick which custom ROM you want. If that custom rom state use CWM then only you flash CWM. After flash and install CWM..do Nandroid backup first..then proceed with flashing that custom ROM. QUOTE(n8210 @ Oct 8 2013, 10:02 PM) Haiya... suddenly when i pull down the settings tab, i saw this. Don't even know what happened? Everything was fine. Last thing I flash was the volume boosting. But I think that didn't work for me too. Why..? That's a standard S4 setting tabs..always been like that even on stock firmware.

QUOTE(fkinmeng @ Oct 8 2013, 10:38 PM) if sandisk really good enough then might just get ultra. Ehehe..Ultra Class 10 also okay.. I use the 64GB without any problem. Just remember not to transfer many big files at one go. Transfer big files in smaller portion a few times.

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Oct 11 2013, 12:31 AM) don't know is true or not =.= http://www.sammobile.com/2013/10/10/samsun...-s5-in-january/The reason? Well, it’s apparently the disappointing sales of the Galaxy S4, so Samsung is hoping to get the next flagship out earlier than usual, supposedly in February. Bahh..I had enough of S Series..later most features comes out half baked...then buggy somemore.

QUOTE(Nokia convert @ Oct 16 2013, 12:37 AM) Wanna ask you guys....S4 is actually my first Android device. My SELinux status still shows permissive and runs on an older firmware. Is it possible to root/flash at this stage without causing knox counter change to 0x1 if I update my firmware later on? If your SELinux still permissive then yes..you can safely root your phone. After you root your phone you won't get any updates anymore. You need to manually do the update via Odin or MobileOdin if you use LTE version. Flashing via Odin will unroot your phone and if that update bring your status from permissive to enforcing then you need to be very careful not to trip your Knox flag.
