Do battery drain when docked is not solved? read it somewhere before.. I lost over 20% battery over 5 hour of sleep. Now testing with ejected hard disk.. wanna see how much the losses..

BTW is there hibernate function? better is I can set it to hibernate when lid is closed and sleep is normal timeout or undock mode..
*
u can't... as i tried... no hibernation setting available... any one success please let me know...
i even tried to search online but still cannot... sad.gif

but it only happens when docked to keyboard only. if not docked, the lost is minimal.

Yup, only happen if docked with keyboard in standby mode...

QUOTE(rendude @ Jan 10 2014, 12:07 PM)
well u can try this quick hibernate guide (tested myself):
1. enable hibernation by going to your desktop, run as admin command prompt, and type;
powercfg -h on
then, restart your pc.
2. confirm hiberfil.sys file exist on your c: drive. should be 1.5gb in size. goto my computer->c: , show protected file from folder options, then u can see the hidden file.
3. on the same command prompt, resize hiberfil.sys size to 60% to ensure successful resume from hibernation by typing;
powercfg -h -size 60%
4. confirm hiberfil.sys file size changed to 1.2gb.restart your pc again.
5. create hibernate shortcut, right click desktop, new, create shortcut. on location, type;
shutdown.exe /h
then press next. if u want to pin to start metro ui, just right click on the icon, choose pin to start.

Note, when u press the hibernate icon, screen will turn off quickly followed by camera white led turn on for a few seconds indicating system is hibernating. to turn your tab on again...press power button 2 times, 1st for 1-2 seconds followed by long 2nd press until screen turn on. that's it. this needs more tests which i dun have time...so if something bad happens...dun blame meĀ  icon_idea.gif if tab refuse to turn on...u can try connect your charger and press power button for 2 seconds...but i never encounter this before. gud luck.
*
Hi thanks... will try that in the weekend n see...

If it fails to turn on, first hold the power button for 10 seconds this is the hard off switch, let go, wait a few seconds, then try turning on as normal
*
yup knows that... actually all those tips we must put in the 2nd post... under tips n trick section...

QUOTE(rendude @ Jan 10 2014, 04:26 PM)
yeah...maybe need to try other way as well...but i've found out if i let d tab hibernate for more than 5 minutes...i just need to press power button only once to resume...press until screen turns on, that's it. maybe when it started to hibernate, d tab needs more than 1 minute to properly hibernate, so need to give some time before resuming.

thumbup.gif will try out n see

edited....
ok done... but why need to resize??? that is interesting...
no need to press 2 times for the boot up / power up... just press n hold for a while it will start back up... smile.gif

QUOTE(hart932 @ Jan 11 2014, 12:01 AM)
On my Lenovo Miix2, I can see that my battery drains fast when hooked up via usb to external hdd. Fortunately for the Miix2, the tablet can be charged & access the external hdd at the same time using usb hub.

For the case of T100,  the hdd has a spinning motor that consumes lots more power than solid state drives. Its like my tablet hooked up to the ext hdd all the time when T100 is docked.  Then its only normal that battery will drain much faster. Usually its more noticeable on smaller capacity battery in tablets compared to traditional laptops.

The only way to reduce battery consumption & still use the keyboard is to:
1. replace hdd in keyboard with ssd
2. replace hdd in keyboard with sata sdcard adapter + sdcard (slower than ssd but more economical for bigger storage capacity per buck)

Of cause there wont be any warranty left on keyboard after doing it.  biggrin.gif

hmmm i thought capacity is not the issue... is the current they pull so it finish faster coz the motor is more hunger for current to spin faster...

so quiet... BTW i manage to try on the Hibernate mode already... u need to wake up it after 2 mins (to better one) or even after 1 min (u can try but not always successful... simply press the power button for 2~3 secs n release it...
successfully change the lock windows password to 4 digit also which saw a youtube post using only 4 digit... after searching it was build into the system which u alter the login setup only... u can choose picture or 4 numeric passkey also...
now i'm wonders which a guy in youtube posted a Touch Mouse Pad (on screen) which is nice to use... it can change the whole screen into touch pad only haha... still looking for the file for it...
i'm also looking forward to alter the power profile which the screen will shutoff when i sleep the tablet and let it run for a specific time (i wrote) before it really sleep the whole tablet...

anyone here can tell me how long the battery will last when attached to the dock? my potential buyer ask me this question but i really never check it before sad.gif

i just know it will last longer when not attached to the dock, someone please help!

*
Maybe around 4-5 hours... never really calculate... as long as they shutdown when no use it will take too much standby battery life...
