not all ppl wanna have this la...
BTW i also confirm the docking takes the battery life... 7:00 = unplug from power... put into sleep mode... 8:15 = reach office, double check still 100%... 9:00 = go download some movies thru QVOD to watch... streaming 1 episode and downloading another at same time... 9:50 = after finish watch 1 episode, the other i download also finished... 85%... 9:55 = getting ready to go out left 83%... ok... the bottom left of the tablet itself has higher heat after running for around 50+ mins... will try to see how much left in the afternoon... cheers.. |

The battery indicator was showing 22%. mine today morning around 6:am unplug... put inside my camera bag... whole day never use it...just now i check 96%... but with dock i duno... below is my email to ASUS... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « it seems they never realise the dock is taking up a lot of power... that is sleep mode suppose not to wake up like our laptop...
in the MS spec it should be consuming around 6% after 8 hours... but after with dock... it cannot be done... without no problem... |

QUOTE(g5sim @ Dec 22 2013, 10:17 AM) y you dock your tablet when not using? there are lots of electrical devices in the dock that require power. the keyboard, the USB 3.0, the touch pad, the harddisk so yes understandable it will consume more power. What things have u uninstall? I usually docked onto the keyboard... but after I see the drainage, I only dock it when needed...anyhow - I turned off my table screen at 12.00midnight at 100%. Now 10.11AM still got 97% and btw - I turned the alarm on. I can see the alarm on the locked screen. So its actually consumed less than 1/2 battery that MS said it would. 3% instead of 6% and oh I uninstalled some of the crapware that came with preinstalled by ASUS the crapware published by ASUS that I still have in my installed program list are: ASUS AC Reminder ASUS Reading Mode ASUS Smart Gesture ATK Package Windows driver package - ASUS (ASUS HD) Mouse Winflash I also have JAVA 7 Update 45 installed PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH other drivers/programs that are not published by ASUS. Denkies BTW they had disable the hibernate mode... I also duno y... hibernate wries not consume any battery when the tablet is of... sleep mode actually if correctly implemented it does not drain so much of battery... I suspect they never implement it properly, some of the things still running when sleeping... |

QUOTE(dlwl @ Dec 22 2013, 11:14 PM) Got for my dad a few days ago, he's loving it so far...only need to learn a bit how to use the metro apps. mine left 5GB at some stage, no problem la... Btw, any casing for just the tablet only? Seems pretty hard to look for one around here now.. And how to install apps directl into microsd? Bought a 32gb class 10. After installing some apps and the necessary software, left about 13gb free space on the main storage. I'm worried that it might slow down as it fills up is not like our normal HDD, this one transfer rate is much faster... new generation of ATOM also helps... i run lightroom in the weekend, good speed although not as good as in my bro i7 laptop... but it can run smoothly... using it for around 1 weeks plus already, loving it... but any one knows how to lock the rotation of the tablet after undock??? Cheers... for SD card apps installation u need to do some tweak... please refer to the link below... Using a Micro SD Card to Install Programs he manage to do it in surface... u can try ours also.... i have not get an extra memory card yet so haven try... QUOTE(marauderz @ Dec 23 2013, 10:22 AM) Lock screen rotation, slide charms bar out from the right, tap the settings gear, notice there's a SCREEN icon near the lower right hand corner, tap on that, the bar that appears is the screen brightness adjuster, we're not interested in that, the screen icon ON TOP of the bar is tappable, that is your screen rotation lock, tap on it and the arrows will change into a lock to indicate lock. Great tips... thanks...The mount SD card as folder tweak sounds great. I'll try it out and see, I wonder if it's the same as making a Junction Point, which allowed apps to detect that it IS a removable device and refuse to install on it. I use the VHD method myself. http://www.marauderzstuff.com/PermaLink,gu...409bce37bd.aspx |

QUOTE(dotaallstarz @ Dec 23 2013, 11:25 PM) would like to ask for feedback on this before i proceed with order.. senq out of stock but they say can order .. but dunno when arrive.. rm1399 1+1 warranty.. if anyone know when they will hav stock can let me know too. no problem... i even stream astro on the go on this which works fine... i actually previously owned a asus smart vivotab.. however the speed is rather slow.. so decided to sell it off.. slow even when opening few windows.. may i ask how is the performance of this? abit skeptical cuz its atom.. my main usage is mainly download movie , browsing , and watch video / online streaming.. appreciate some feedback on experience.. cuz honestly the smart vivotab is really slow QVOD also has been used... Adobe Lightroom V5 also smoothly...a i would say this performance is at least on par with the old Core2Duo processor laptop... i used lightroom, firefox and also VLC player together which consume a lot of ram... i do not see any major lag which u mention... BTW my SSD only left 5GB space after install some programs... my lightroom is open with some photos in the HDD, Firefox has a few tabs and my VLC is playing RMVB files which i had downloaded or streamed using QVOD... worth the money as i need an OTG machine which gives me full windows capability... i have an iPad, iPhone and also an Android with me... but sometimes when u need to do some task u need a device which has full windows capability, it will be completed with ease... while with others device u might have hiccups or difficulties to complete it... just like that i am replying you now... i type with ease...
