it's unfair to speculate, some unit like mine has none of this issue, so u can test before buy. get perfect ultra = gg.

coz out of a lot known xzu user in this forum, only a portion complained bout the issue.
2 of my fren using ultra oso no face the probs.

if sealed box they will ask u if u confirm buy or not. once u say confirm they open bill to u ady...and any prob u find when test at shop will be treated as warranty claim. they wont give u new unit n send the faulty unit for warranty claim instead...if u nice2 nego or luck maybe they got 1-to-1 on spot

hey peeps...i think it's safe to say the "Optimized backlight" and "Adapt to lighting conditions" which caused some of us facing SOD and fake hang is due to proximity sensor went haywire during startup. if any of you who faced the SOD/fake hang thing, try to recalibrate your proximity sensor with both "Optimized backlight" and "Adapt to lighting conditions" turned off. do post follow up for the results if you tried

try some of these don'ts
1. Don't lock your phone with any password/pin/pattern while updating.
2. Don't connect it to your USB 3.0 port. use USB 2.0 instead.
3. Don't panic if anything happen to phone during the progress (reboot, screen go black), only follow instructions of the PC Companion. As long as the progress bar is there, your phone will be fine.

well u can backup those n recover them back if u're worried. a factory reset is recommended before doing the recalibration

when u can no longer produce fake hang / SOD that means it's working
the proximity sensor behave very weird when light sensor is idle from optimizing backlight thus cause the fake hang...i don't know if light sensor can be recalibrate or not if the proximity recalibration don't fix the problem. I don't have a buggy XZU to go deeper, however.

tht's faulty...maybe can still dip in if u get a case that covers that area as well to keep the flap from popping out due to pressure in water

yea most likely is SP tht caused it, the proximity sensor detected ur SP as a nearby objct thus decided to turn off the screen during calls

2 times buy from him, very nice seller...will get the sbh52 from him if got budget coz i planning to get Z1 as alternative phone

your fingers maybe rly small til it thought ur finger is pencil tip...sumtimes it detects my finger as well thts why i found out XD

i just use gmail to handle all my emails with pop3/smtp either work/personal...all well categorized
this way i dn need to set up email app everytime i change device...jz login gmail app n i gell all my mails managed

refer here and here for hotmail receive and send mail via gmail

true that but i got used to it XD it has been almost a year since i last sync my mail to the built-in email app X_X

u can test it in About Phone -> Diagnostics -> Test Device -> Vibration. if it failed the test, go send in for warranty.

nop. 30fps all the way. camera is not focused feature of Z Ultra.
