From my S3 days, changing CSC related stuff = data wipe. Still?

LTE = AP only. Not that I'm in the best position for SME warranties, but I've been lucky so far.

And then there's that problem with dev support...

Might as well, LTE is pretty nonexistent in the neck of the woods I spend 90% of my time in.

Been checking out the other 4.3 roms, seems most has the "lose Google login repeatedly" issue. Anybody here facing this? I haven't run into it personally on Wanam's 4.3, maybe because it's odexed?

Personally sticking with Philz because it's so customizable and because it actually gives me a Nandroid size estimate (unlike old CWM). Also, Philz can nandroid to extSD too lar, I've been backing stuff up since I got the phone.

However, I do get that weird "potential root loss" message when rebooting from Philz - weird because even if you choose not to "fix" it, root is still there.

It was getting quite annoying so I just flashed the SuperSU CWM zip and it's all settled, no more "root loss" weirdness. Thanks for the tip sacremento.

On Wanam 4.0, it's NOT available. Got the screenie but let's save you the trouble cause it's just missing on my ROM.

That said I need sac to confirm because I routinely TiBu stuff out of my ROMs to lighten them up (system apks included) so it might just be that.

@fruitie: Now that you brought it up, a built in business card OCR reader sounds like a very nifty thing to have actually. Saves time typing contact info, yet it's not really worth buying an app for in the case of somebody like me.

I've been searching for a proper working port if the "Optical Reader" apk (the guts behind the "Business Card" option). No joy so far (except one half working port for the S3), so unless Sammy is planning to give it to us in the official 4.3 release, cam card is as good as it gets.

Which is sad considering the Optical Reader can read multiple languages and pipe it up to s-translate, Jap included.

Planning to that. Cross flashing a CWM zip made for the another device (in this case the Note 3) will not end well.

Anyhow, I managed to get Optical Reader running, and no the Business Card shortcut is still missing. Probably needs the Note 3 phonebook as well. Optical Reader IS missing dictionaries for most of the languages though, and it seems I have to download Samsung Apps (ugh) to get them.

Well, on the flip side, you can't blame people from wanting something with style AND substance. Although calling phones with NO removable batteries and NO SD cards "substantial" leaves much to be pondered practically wise.

IMHO anyway.

I mean, a fully metal Note 4 WITH removable battery, SD slot... Mmmmmmm.

Although on the lag side, I've seen my fair share of laggy Note 2s. Most of which used by people who know nuts about watching what they install. Taking these examples as yardsticks of lag are like... well... saying that Android is laggy in general because SOME people stuff it up with weird crap.

For the "pure" people, of course they don't have lag when the ONLY things installed at the base are the bare bones that come with basic android. For sure it will run like a bat out of hell. Load it up enough and it will lag too.

Myself I've yet to hit any annoying amount of lag on the N2, but I wouldn't really say I'm running things "stock Samsung".

On another note, I ended up unintstalling the Optical Reader. I just couldn't make it work reliably enough at the moment, and it's not giving me business card reading capabilities anyway. Google Translate already does OCR for translation and it's doing so quite well too nowadays.

Do share if you manage to get it working. In my case, while OCR works when grabbing text from a pic, the instant recognition part failed miserably, not really recognising anything. I even pinched some files straight from an S4, no joy.

Wanam leak. Odexed of course. It starts fine, just not the instant recognition part.

FYI the Photo Reader app (supposedly the same thing) up on Samsung App refuses to start outright after installation. Not sure why.

Like joy I wonder if there is any rom action for the 7102. Being such a niche device.

I can confirm that some of the stuff in there (to be honest there aren't that many to begin with) are actually better than comparable options in Wanam Exposed. For instance Wanam's camera sound hack DOES NOT turn off AF sounds. Turning the option for "camera sound settings" (or something) on in Hidden Settings and toggling the sound off does a far better job.

There are also some stuff that might clash with Wanam Xposed though, so be careful toggling stuff.

The ability to completely delete the option for "software update" in the about screen is pure genius though, as I delete EVERYTHING related to software updates from the ROM anyway.

Similarly the "turn on sub symbols" for the keyboard, which combined with the Xposed "short keyboard delay" hack makes everything almost perfect on the keyboard side. As a bonus it works flawlessly with the 4.3 keyboard in the MI6 Wanam as well.

Works perfectly with the S-Pen and the floating keyboard. Quite sad that even after 12 years (yes, it's a 2001 game), it's still still the only worthwhile "hacking" game ever made.

That said still sticking with my self modded Wanam for now, even if it's odexed nature supposedly prevents me from trying out deoded mods like the Air Command. 2 weeks and zero FCs or other oddities, plus great battery life and excellent smoothness. A daily driver ROM for sure.

Except for that weird "root potentially lost" false alarm message every time I exit Philz, that is.

Anybody figured out how to use the AC mod with odexed roms yet though?
