Now at the front of the BBM line. Only I don't really feel like using it anymore. Everyone I know is locked into WhatsApp anyway.

Plus that forced persistent notification is not in any way appealing at all.

Maybe I'll just install to register.

Yep. I have not installed any mods or restored anything from TB. So far everything looks good.

Direct Input doesnt work although there's a demo in the help app.
Quick control is back for default browser.(oh yes rclxm9.gif )..back to the old browser.
Default browser has scrolling glitches. No problem for me. Those that cant stand can opt for next browser.
No more google sign in problems.
Tested all air commands and no problems at all.

Not bad for a leak 4.3. nod.gif

Sounds delicious. Might just try Joel later, but as always, reinstalling/restoring everything back to par will be a royal PITA. Will probably do it if I get really, REALLY bored though.

By scrolling glitches you mean those microstutters we have on Wanam? Or something more serious?

600 to 700 regardless of warranty?

Actually the rebate amount given is RM900. ONLY to the first 50 people mind you.

Not worth it when you take into consideration that they're selling at FULL SME RRP (2.3k?) when most shops have nowadays gone down to around 1.9k for a brand new N3.

Not that I'm sure there's even any more slots left to begin with.

lol. seems like it didnt fix my issue. after switching it off got warning that my connection is unstable. experienced this before at my friend house when i turn off my data. I thought his house internet got problem.  doh.gif

will try full wipe first. hope only software issue not hardware shakehead.gif

Sounds like some WIFI compatibility issues. Try with other devices first to confirm if the WIFI you're connecting is not at fault. Seems like 4.3 is FAR less tolerant of sheety connections than before.

I also get this sometimes, usually restarting the router fixes the problem. That said my WIFI does that with ANY device.

But frequent 3G disconnection? That sounds weird.

Yeap dunno what actually happen. Before this never experienced this issue. My wifi with other device are fine
Not just the norification, my internet connection also become wonky. Page cannot be displayed, offline error.

Seems like full wipe+efs restore+reflash did the trick for now. Will monitor and see how first

Flashed my phone to stock 4.1.2 firmware and followed your suggestion. Seems like it did the trick but can't identify which fix solve it since I've flashed it already when I read your suggestion.lol
No restoring all my previous app from playstore through wifi and I finally get a stable connection. What a relief.

Thanks for all the suggestion guys notworthy.gif

I think it was a channel conflict in your router. Happens all the time at my house.

Use Wifi Analyzer in play store to check which channel is clear. Or at least less crowded.

Been there 2 years back, solo backpack trip. But now I'm in the neck of the Pahang woods on weekdays and in KL during weekends.

Dying to go back to Japan though - if I could only secure the finances.

Samsung is hurting the 'out of the box" users more than us. Me, i just want full bodied Custom Roms.  brows.gif

Samsung releases devices like almost every month. To hope that they, a company that conquers the market through sheer volume, to back up their products the bitter end is like expecting Microsoft to support Win XP forever lol.

Besides, it's a cruel truth but they have to force you to upgrade somehow with that kind of market saturation strategy. Sure, the N3 is shiny and has cutting edge specs, but if a larger number of people say "hell, we'll just stick with the old model and wait until it gets KitKat", their margin - which relies on sheer volume - will suffer.

Hence why they're trying so hard to lock down the N3 (and now the N2 and even the S4) against "user modifications" with Knoxy. Just to make sure, they give us a screen that burns out gradually and will probably look like crap after 2 years (which is just what AMOLED is).

Well, that is what Sammy is doing. Planned Obsolescence. Not that every other manufacturers aren't doing the same exact thing.

But, this all should be common knowledge by now, rite?

Not that its all bad. Without the continuous rush of production (and consumption), me might not have seen smartphones catch up to laptop resolutions and number of CPU cores in less than 5 freaking years.

It's like Moore's Law on speed. Lots and lots of speed.

Wanam MJ5 out, if anybody's interested. Needs a new bootloader so not for me, not yet anyway. Waiting for the next wave of customs based on the "real" 4.3 later.

tried DN3 just now after read about it here. Apparently the known MI6 bug still there, google account gone when rebooted the phone. In echoe rom, it can be fixed by flashing gapps, tried it on DN3 but no success. End up flashing cm.
*
I'm on Wanam's MI6, and this "bug" has only happened to me a few times, AND I reboot A LOT. What I did notice was if you "fast reboot" through Wanam Exposed, it happens. If you don't, and reboot normally, it doesn't.

And I haven't even flashed the "gapps fix" at all. Straight clean flash Wanam MI6 to a brand new Note 2.

@muman7: SDS maybe?

Holy flying fish.

And I'm plenty paranoid already with it being in my side pocket. Though getting a flip case still seems to me an unnecessary hassle. A price we have to pay for such a huge screen eh... hmm.gif

Edit the xml file. Make a copy and rename as backup just in case.

/data/data/com.sec.android.inputmethod/shared_prefs/ com.sec.android.inputmethod_preferences.xml

The line should be somewhere at the bottom. Default value should be 5. Change it to your preference.

Thanks for the tip. Works in Wanam MI6 as well, now HWR is much more "usable" with the thinner pen like lines vs the old felt tip brush strokes.

BTW, what recovery are you guys using and why? I'm starting to get annoyed with Philz's constant nagging about a root problem that really does not exist and nobody has compiled the latest Philz for the N7100 (latest one has an option to turn the nagging off).

Thinking of going to TWRP, but it seems to lack the pretty nifty Aroma FM in Philz, plus I got some "experiences" with TWRP back in my S3 days - it simply screwed up some of my zips.

Flashed TWRP. Liking the compression used for backups and the internal FM seems to replace Aroma FM fine for my uses. Plus VGUI simply looks better that just plain text no matter how you skin it.

I'm missing haptic feedback though. Ummm haptics.

Happens quite often after a reboot on DN3. I think there was some solution on the xda thread but can't find it.

IINM the "fix" is to reflash gapps. I could be wrong though.

And yes to add on to my battery life post earlier on, i've disabled zRAM to reduce the "lag" when running RAM hogging applications like browsers.
*
Compressed RAM and swap will always be inferior to the real thing. But it IS useful if "the real thing" is not an option.

Yet another reason why I ran the eff away from my S3. 1GB of RAM can only go so far.

S3? Only 512MB of zRAM and 80%> of Swappyness will reduce the lag symptoms

Provided your internal SD read ahead is more than 1024KB
*
Annnd with 16 full tabs in the browser everything go to hell. Even power amp has issues staying alive, not to mention near constant launcher redraws. Doesn't matter if you're using zRAM or good old swap (which just makes it even laggier), even with seeder or V6.

Sure, with tweaks the problem can be "lessened", but it will never go away.

Zero zRAM and none of that crap on the N2. Just goes to show you can't really replace what's physically missing. I AM using seeder though with the N2 and it helps smoothen things up a bit.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 7 2013, 12:49 AM)
hmm.gif So I have flashed my sister's Note II to DN3 as well.

One thing I noticed that her screen colour doesn't look like mine. The white colour on my screen looks white while hers looks slightly yellowish.

All settings are the same as mine and two phones were put side by side. I didn't tell her this, if not she is going to get upset. sweat.gif

What could be the reason(s)? hmm.gif
*
Has it been like that ever since, or right after your flashed DN3?

On the hardware side, AMOLED screens are prone to going yellow simply because the blue diodes have a tendency of dying early. The more you use it, the yellower it gets. This holds true for any AMOLED screen, the big tradeoff for all the punchy colours and deep absolute blacks we get. Also I think you know that some of the screens actually come for the factory "pre-yellowed" lol, I know my old S3 had this issue.

But sometimes software can also influence the screen colour. The mDinie profiles that determine the screen colour balance are software coded after all. If it got yellower after DN3, it might just be this.
