Samsung rolling out 4.3 FW update for S4. Shud be coming for Note2 soon. Hopefully no Knox but i doubt so.

Why worry about Knox? Afraid cant root? I thought note3 can root already without triggering the counter.

Can root but installing custom recovery/roms/kernels will trigger Knox flag.

since most of us with dead warranty... we dont really care... but the new leak that i test, knox is already working in the firmware.... and dr. ketan from xda has already manage to root the might be official firmware with the help from chainfire.

we will see the firmware probably tonight. since its still in testing phase after deodex, root & bla bla bla....

maybe just temporary won't trigger. One of the pioneer already trigger the Knox counter accidentally, possibly by the new firmware.

Btw, yesterday just sent my wife's white Note II to SC to check the GPS coz it takes much longer time to lock than my grey Note II, and its GPS lock was not stable, would drop GPS signal unexpectedly. They just flashed an updated firmware (iirc, it is MF2) and it seems to solve the problem.

Reflashed everything back to stock for both Note II and pass to my younger sister and brother respectively. So officially i am an ex-Note II user now. Interested to see some of the new features of Note 3 to be brought over to Note II in the future official Samsung ROM.

For my Note 2 Knox don't matter coz warranty going to run out soon.

Lol. Thats why I asked why worry bout knox. My warranty expires in 3 days. Can tell the whole world I rooted and flashed my phone. Take that samsung.

That said I've been running the leaked 4.3 since day one anyway...

Still, if the official 4.3 removes the browser quick controls, I'm sticking with the leak until they figure out a way to put QC back into the browser. I use QC too much to live without it.

Even if the new FW comes with the Note 3 pen actions lol.

Now I keep forgetting that QC is unavailable but still slide my thumb at the side screen.

There is an alternative where you can put in 4.1.2 browser apk and be able to use the QC in 4.3 roms. Saw it in xda but havent tried it yet. Maybe tonite.

Wouldn't that FC the browser when used in pen window? Assuming PW is available on the 4.3 release ROM.

Also, changing browser apk = all sorts of weirdness. I tried before replacing the stock browser with the AOSP browser apk. Suffice to say I reverted back to the stock Sammy one quick quick.

If you use the old browser, it won't be shown in pen window by default. You need to add in through csc.

From my S3 days, changing CSC related stuff = data wipe. Still?

No it won't. You can edit the CSC manually or use an app to add app to the pen window.

Help...i got a friend mistakenly use romtoolbox to change the screen resolution to 790...

now the screen too big and cannot key in pin coz zero is not visible. can't scroll down/up/left/right either

he just rooted only using framaroot. didn't flash in any custom rom yet.

tried to factory reset (clear cache as well) but still screen resolution is big.

any ideas to restore the screen resolution back to 320?

Reflash a rom. The resolution is probably done to the build.prop and factory reset will not work. Easiest is to reflash the rom or flash any other rom.
