Hi, just want to ask anyone about FD upliftment about BSN (Bank Simpanan National)
................
This is because I feel their BSN customer service seems like don't have any communication each other and even branches.  shakehead.gif BSN Customer service (By Call) say can, BSN Malacca branches say can, just afraid BSN Sarawak branches there cannot~ cry.gif
*
hmm.gif list of BSN branches contacts in Sarawak...call them? remember to get the name of the respondent that says ok...
call a few branches to confirm!

if i take a 6 months FD, they only calculate and add in interest payment at maturity date right?
if difference also not much I think compare with compounded monthly
*

i think this looks ok...confirm before use...if ok....you do the calculation and compare. ok?

Thanks.
In the end I get a bit more for 6 months. Just a bit.
With 1 month, I don't have to wait 6 months to withdraw
Hmmm.... hmm.gif
*
premature withdrawal may not get the interest...i think

Stagnant money has no value. 1 month FD is good if you are doing business, you can move the money any time you want.

may lose out the interest?
for that, i think try Cash Management funds is better

In good day, every bank make profit one.
As this difference only can be seen when bad time.
Typically history example would be 1997 crisis, only left one local bank was not making a loss during that time.
And a few banks or finance company that was making hundred million profit prior before crisis, were struggling due to rise in NPL, and short of liquidity, which poses risk of bank/finance company went under.

what is the name of your FD promo?

just came back from ambank just now.
apparently the teller that i spoke to yesterday does not know about this promo.

i asked the the front desk customer service.
they say yes. "TOP RATE. 4.12 PA FOR 36 MTHS. ITS CONVENTIONAL, MIN 50K" just like forummer kingofong said.

ambank said "fresh" fund
as my FD with them happens to expire today,...
i cannot do direct transfer, cannot take out as cash and bank in.
they wanted their system to confirm that the fund are in from outside.
end up have to do transfer to another bank, wait until money is cleared (maybe next monday)
goto that bank buy cashier order....go back to ambank (next week) and buy into this promo.
(hopefully promo still available next week)

that was my experience with them today

u shd have withdrawn in cash, walk out of the bank n come back, then its fresh fund oredi.
*
ya-lor,..that is what i told them that i would do.
the mgr said "no" because their system would capture as
FD>CASH>TOP RATE...because my IC number was used.

thus FD>CASH into S/A>other bank is ok

just make a "bigger circle" in the fund movement

do we have to declare interest earned on FD (or for that matter, other types of investments like unit trusts, wealth management products etc) to IRD and are we subjected to pay income tax on this?

Just a quick check... is the AmBank 4.12% FD insured by PIDM?
I believe it should be, but just don't see it being mentioned in their TnC.
Am considering to take this up after my HL Mach FD matured next week.

Like to know whether there is an FD (or something similar to it) for 1-3 weeks instead of month.

Why? Sometimes I have FD maturing but don't need it till 1-3 weeks later.

Thanks.
