you can cut it out but if you cut if out, you need to re-pin the the wire so it will be 6+2 again. or if the wire is long enough like most of the modular psu, just hide it. it the +2 pin is an extension from the 6pin, i think, the only thing you can do is cut it,

*note, if you cut it, take consideration that it will void your warranty and if you upgrade your gpu that needs 2x 6+2 pin, you need to re-pin it. smile.gif

do u use lighter to heat up the heatshrink tube? can show me one of ur sample when using the ligther?
