fangrill??? my delta FFB already has a built in 'fangrill' in the form of the static blades tongue.gif

but now i aint using that anymore as ive transfered my rig into a new aluminium case and using a new fan on it with a UV reactive mesh filter that uglyvamp sells. the purpose isnt to protect my fingers though...its more to protect my heatsink from dust laugh.gif

the TFBs and the GFBs aint that easily available ler... expensive somemore...the GFB Rlhh/elhh was bulking for RM210 last time shocking.gif

if wan cheap means get the FFB la.... i got 2 for sale laugh.gif

190cfm 3.0A 50+dba RM35 thumbup.gif
barely used... total usage mebbe less than 1 or 2 hours only.

WARNING:

1/ fan is friggin noisy... there are no fan controllers in the market that can officially support this fan (or the TFB or GFB for that matter) without burning....
2/ not all FFBs can run at 5v or 7v...most can only run at 12v. my fans can only run at 12v meaning full speed all the time... it cannot run on 5v or 7v... u set to that voltages and nuttin will happen.
3/ fan comes with bare wires.

PM me if interested.... if u dont mind the noise...it WILL make a diff in temps brows.gif

laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

no problem dude... not many people can tahan the noise of the deltas anyway tongue.gif

and actually the TFB size and i think weight also is the same as the FFB.... but the GFB is a pure giant! the clips on the XP-120 confirm can hold the FFB as thats what i did with my rig.... and im pretty sure the TFB oso can...

but then GFB... i think can la...but cant really confirm .... sweat.gif

yeah man..... actually even on thermalright website got a picture of the GFB installed with the XP120 and the XP120 looks friggin small with that fan on it laugh.gif

mebbe a PWM based fan controller might help?? although i have no idea how to build sumthin like that... i heard in jalan pasar there might be parts for u to control fans up to 5A. i think so only la...not sure...coz me dunno all this electrical stuff... only know how to cut and join wires only laugh.gif

but if u can find a delta TFB should get that man.... same dimensions as the FFB but with 220CFM and 60+dBa drool.gif

anyway...the FFB really makes a difference.. now im using a 60+cfm fan (blow in position) and my temps increased by at least 4-5C compared to the FFB in suck out position.

but then again the increase in temps might be because i also changed my casing wink.gif

Wait...

You're telling here that, using "suck out" position will cool the processor more than "blow in" to the heatsink? blink.gif

Aiyoo..
Pening loo...

Kan bagus kalau bleh pasang dua kipas 120MM kat XP120 aku tuh... laugh.gif

Blow in on the below of the heatsink, and suck out on the top of the heatsink... thumbup.gif

Can it be done? sweat.gif
*
nonono..... the diff in temps is because of the diff fans used... 190cfm vs 60cfm...of course la 190 better tongue.gif but if its the same fan confirm blow in will give slightly better temps

actually according to reviews i read last time... blow in is better.... but suck out will increase the temp by 1c and reduce chipset/mofset (cant remember which) by 1-2c. which is why i put it to suck out with my ffb...besides... i had ideas for the fan.. should check out my UV mod on the fan i did... can see in the UV league thread V2 in case mods section (page 1 tongue.gif)

nak sumbat kipas 2 bijik??? xp120 tak leh... si 120/128 mebbe can... but 120mm and mebbe a smaller fan on the bottom part brows.gif

Exhaust fan have to be slow, but not to slow...
But the intake fan is better if you use a high cfm... thumbup.gif

The intake fan that i mean is the fan on the front of the casing, the hard disk bay...
For the sidewindow fan, [if you have so] don't use a high cfm... smile.gif

Use a slow one also as this would make the fan suck the hot air that has just been thrown out by the exhaust fan on the rear of the casing... wink.gif

Got it? cool.gif
*
wat ur trying to do is create a positive air pressure in ur case la bro... more air in less air out. generally its an accepted thought that negative pressure is better than positive. more air out than more air in. so if ur gonna play with the pressures its better to have more air out aka negative pressure so the hot air wont stay in the case too long and end up being recycled by the HSF.

negative pressure will suck out all the hot air out faster. but the bad thing is itll suck all the cold air in from each and every crack in ur case... meaning dust will be coming in from everywhere as itll be sucking them in too. good for temps bad for dust.

positive pressure will be pushing cold air in and also force the hot air out thru all the cracks in ur case... this is good for dust control coz ur dust intake will be concentrated in 1 area. good for dust...not so good for temps.

the best of course is to have a balance between positive and negative. difficult to achieve sadly.

personally id prefer to setup a positive pressure in my case... coz my room is friggin dusty. but its at negative now by the way.

So, there's no way we can get a positive pressure?
Hard eeh?

But, i've read from somewhere else that we should only use low cfm exhaust fan...
I'll try to look to where i found it...

If i found it again, i'll post here the link for sure... icon_rolleyes.gif

eh nono...positive pressure and negative pressure is easy to get. its the BALANCE of both thats hard to get.

i already say hard to get n u ask for easy way... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

even if u use the same exact fan for intake and exhaust theres still alot of factors to consider... like intake restriction due to front panel design. or intake filters bla bla bla.... then u also have to remember that ur PSU fan is also an exhaust fan for ur case.. so wanna get the balance of both its gonna get very technical and probably scientific to get it right.

so my suggestion is choose either u wan positive or negative pressure.

Damn, i should be getting that fan instead of my Nidec Beta 5... rclxub.gif

What's the CFM for 120MM FF? drool.gif
*
got la dude... the one u were talking about with me in PM is the delta focus flow la.. Delta FF... or Delta FFB... model is FFB1212EHE doh.gif

QUOTE(PowerSlide @ Sep 10 2006, 01:06 AM)
no idea..hav a check

but the A is high..some fan controller sure meletup  rclxub.gif
*
as mentioned above its FFB1212EHE with 3.0A. as of this moment there are NO retail fan controller that can officially support it. although theres 1 on sidewinder that can control it but they still dont advise to use it with the fan...

the model of the 80mm should be FFB0812EHE.

laugh.gif ha... shocking aint it??

i have a few of those filters...so i just replace them and wash the dirty ones with water....

i would LOVE to use the AC filter materials... its less restrictive than the one im using now... but sadly.. that means itll allow more dust in too... so i just live with the current one i have now...

actuallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy......running on 12cm FFBs wont be that bad.... its the 8 and 9cm ones that are real loud coz they give out a friggin high pitch sound...

not only that... my 8cm FFB's motor would produce an annoying clicking sound when they run at 5v. whereas the 12cm is fine at 5v... and still pushes a decent amount of air..
