really?

I am serious unless you don't use camera and not get annoyed by the red/purple tint which is predominantly on 90% of the phones HTC has sold then its your best phone to purchase.
Otherwise be prepared to visit the monkeys at HTC Customer care and repair center.
And to give you some headsup the 4.3 firmware does NOT fix the camera issue it makes it worse

I'm happy with mine.

I like the screen, the front facing speakers (major sell point for me), the speed and the camera is not bad too despite the purple tint which is better in 4.3 imo (I'm using 4.3 now) NOT worse.

I don't have other phones to compare with except the Iphone 5 but if I were to take a realistic (not those shooting at pitch black test conditions), I'll take the One over the Iphone 5.

Agreed under normal situations it works well. In pitch dark situations - dammit - use the flash unless one of those who likes taking low light pictures for the sake of art

I think HTC's biggest failture is setting and managing expectations.

Between all the cameras I have (currently have 3 compacts and a dslr).. most of the default factory setting will clip all those shadows to pure black in those low light situation.. HTC pulak will try to bring up dark areas which is too ambitious imo for the hardware.

Then again, I much prefer HTC's approach vs the others.. Sony especially have a tendency to do this.

Point is... if the photo is "ruined" by the purple tint.. it's probably too dark to be taking photos anyway.

Hmmm.. maybe I'll do a shootout tonight.... HTC One vs Compact camera.

Go for it

Hey sniper

Thanks for the efforts and to me I think the HTC One camera can hold its own against the cybershot of course you cant compare with a dedicated camera but then can a dedicated camera make phone calls/text/ etc etc

been using 4.3 a month d, there is 2 version of 4.3 for google edition rom, i flashed the latest one on my fren's first batch silver unit, purple tint camera issue still the same  sad.gif  as for heat issue, i think is the same , for my case i solve it using custom kernel, select a colder core throttling profile , then your phone will be less heat  smile.gif

For those who don't speak greek

What he is saying is that the phone need to be rooted which voids your warranty

Guys, if I want to buy HTC One case from eBay, will I have to pay duty or taxes? I really have no time to go out so the only option for me is online shopping sad.gif

This will be the worst decision that you will ever make.
Not only because you will encounter problems with the unit if unlucky but there is no guarantee that the Monkeys at SC will honour the warranty

Hi Owen,

I know you are HTC supporter. We all here same as well. Very lucky your camera has no problem. I am glad you dont have this problem.

But, the knife haven't cut the skin and no way you can feel the pain as what we having now. The phone got defect, I dont blame HTC. Nothing is perfect. The problem is the way HTC service center serve customer really awful.

At first, before I sent in my phone to them, I thought it could be people in this forum over sensitive. But then after called the HTC dumb operator 3 times for follow up, they give me same question 'Technician are assessing your phone'. Furthermore, those customers not from KL, will never reach the service center, and only can talk to HTC Operator who not really handle your phone problem but talk shit. we just like talk to the air and will never know when the phone will deliver back. Hope you understand our feelings. I got no smart phone that I fully rely it everyday for traffic jam (waze), Business email reading.

I dont blame user complaining here. Take it positively. They share their experience so the new buyer will aware of the issue and prevent the same problem we are facing now.

Dont take it negatively.

HTC operator asked me to call next Monday... Not I want to chase them. This is what they committed to me that will update me the status. I will let you know the answer they will give tomorrow.

Is not I want to show off..

Its not HTC problem to have poor CS service... They already tried their best to perform... But sometimes other people in which I mean the customer service officer in HTC Malaysia sometimes kurang ajaror guailan. The same way some of use is like those kurang ajar type. They don't care about what problem the user have... They only
go to office be kurang ajar during work... Then get paid... Not many people wants to do customer service job because they have to bare all the complaints and stress of the user.. That's why htc already tried their best ... But can't get better people or less kurang ajar people for customer service..

Look at other countries HTC customer service ... They all very helpful
