just called to HTC hotline regards the camera purple repair status. (flashed back to original firmware and still s-off) but they have checked my imei and bootloader already unlock so my warranty void, and i know it).

But they told me must change the motherboard first only can repair the camera module. So they told me to pay the motherboard replacement first in order to proceed the camera module.

Any advice on this ?

I can't brain how we get these HTC Malaysia apologists in here.

Actually, I do quite understand that the issues (regarding purple tint camera) is due to the contracted manufacturer's fault, and how amazing HTC is to admit it and honor refitting of said module (rare trait these days).

But, it's just sad that the appointed service centre in Malaysia is downright sucks. Empty promises and super long wait, and mine even got its issue unfixed on the first time of sending it. Not to mention that I have to wait for that more than a month.

And what really breaks my heart, they're doing a rather poor fixing job on my beloved One. Came back oily, introduced more scratches, and even got residual glue. And the original issue that I've specifically asked them to check on is not even fixed! And they don't even care a bit to call me in that regard!

I pity the mothership. They are having all the bad rap due to the incompetency's of their regional distributors and SCs. They are not treating this "premium" phone as a "premium" product, and they don't seem to have any intention to do so. I'm not expecting them to have some kind of VIP valet service, but looks like they just have to make sure that every job should be poorly done.

So yeah, HTC Malaysia sucks. Best ever product, worst service ever. Looks like the future is plastic anyway. Or it's just that the premium materials are not realistic for others, except for a certain fruit company. (I'd also want to include Nokia and its superiority in material & service, but that's another tragic story).

Anyone interested get this latest tempered glass? It is 0.15mm, thinnest for HTC One.  SGP dont have for HTC One.

To be honest, i'm very disappointed with HTC products and the way they managed. The camera tint issued already known as defect from HTC whereby it not caused by the unlocking bootloader.

Please refer statement from a XDA member as below regarding unlocking bootloader does not completely voids the warranty as per your HTC.com statement.

"Now, the question is - why unlocking the bootloader doesn't void the warranty? The answer is very simple. Because HTC's warranty contract doesn't state it. The only information about warranty on htcdev.com you can find is this: Refer Attached Photo.

So, once again: "It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty." Is there any information, that unlocking bootloader voids warranty? Nope. So basically, what does it mean? Only this - if you brick your device as a result of e.g. flashing custom ROM (unlocked bootloader allows you doing that), you may have no warranty claim for that particular incident. Two more important things to conclude: If "not all claims may be covered under warranty", then (logic conversion) some claims may still be covered under warranty.

Even if you can't claim something under warranty because it was caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader, that doesn't mean you have lost your warranty. You still have your warranty and you still can claim under warranty, but this warranty won't cover those particular claims caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader. So basically, HTC warns you, that some of the actions you might take after unlocking the bootloader may lead to a situation, when particular issue can't be covered under warranty.

Also, this information on htcdev.com doesn't expand or restrict your warranty terms. It doesn't change it at all. If warranty is given in the paper form, then as a contract the only way to change it, is a paper form too (if not stated otherwise in the warranty itself). HTC just kindly reminds you some sort of information you can conclude from the warranty itself."

What they are trying to tell me as per below statement from HTC representative.

just confirmed their statement are "unlocking your device may void all or parts of your warranty". from HTCdev.com

They are not right. Because his HTC One was already faulty before he unlocked the bootloader. He just didn't know it.

guys, currently im reverting to stock 4.1.2 s-on and locked, not relocked..rite now in process upgrading to 4.2.2..i once unlock using htc dev, but rite now, there is no way they can detect my phone hve been unlocked before rite?although its on their record, i still can deny that i unlocked b4 rite? waiting for courier guy to come take one rite now
