QUOTE(Pete the great @ Sep 4 2013, 04:46 PM) Youtube got ah? Interesting.. SAP website, forget it...i check b4, they are like Q&A forums. Don't really get into detail. No screen shots. I've used basic ERP like JDE and SUn System. Trust me, they are nothing like SAP. The whole logic sequence is very different. Good -> At least you have basic knowledge lor. Before i learn SAP B1 --> found pirate DVD . SAP R3 got download torrent .. Way to big 70 gb something.. Not sure wanted to download or not. Never yet seen Edward(Oracle) Or Sun System->infor. Hehe -> to me no perfect system lor.

Usually they won't require prior experience with SAP if you're just an end user. It's the actual job function that really matters and you wouldn't be required to do anything technical. Anyway, you can probably add in your cover letter that you're interested in working with SAP as an end user. Just read up a bit and try to impress them during the interview.

Wonder if got virus.. JDE is oracle meh? I don't think so. Why bigger companies use SAP is because JDE got its limitations, I think they got no of user limitations. SAP can custom to industry, very flexible, but of course, we know how crappy some consultants can be in implementation.

Anyway, you can probably add in your cover letter that you're interested in working with SAP as an end user. Just read up a bit and try to impress them during the interview. On the contrary, they do. If you check out accounting jobs for co that use SAP, main requirement is they must know how to use SAP for that particular module they specialise in. Trouble is , jobstreet which is now the dominant force in job recruitmnet, their stupid system allows employers to bypass the cover letter and go straight to resume. It seems most employers don't look at cover letter when they check out jobstreet because thats my experience when i am called up for interview, they never read my cover letter. So once they look at your resume, no SAP experience or qualification, they just nullify you. Dont even have chance for interview to justify, already written off. Learning SAP is not easy as the business software is large and complex. There are traditional classroom style training courses but they are very expensive and many people find they don’t learn enough about SAP from a course of only a few days duration. Our practical SAP training course solves the problem of how to learn the SAP software without ‘breaking the bank’. Whether you are new to SAP or experienced and looking to expand your skills, this SAP training solution is designed to make learning SAP easy and is a valuable reference guide to build your confidence for a bright SAP Career. wow.. learning to configure so many modules in 200 pages. hahaha. and here i myself have a 400+ page book just doing payroll schema.. "Right now there is a shortage of people with SAP skills in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, South Africa, Swiss, UK, USA, and more." This statement is soo not true. being in countless of multiple country roll outs and projects; I can assure you that there is a higher supply over demand across the world now. Did you know we can hire SAP programmers/analyst at just 7USD a day nowadays? Don't waste your time. SAP is no longer an elite job.

That is why I have moved away from SAP into improving operations and project management. If you want to do SAP, dont look at R3. SAP now is coming up with lots more application like CRM, APO, eWM, etc. This post has been edited by sacwoc: Nov 13 2013, 02:20 PM

Just my 2 cents on this topic.
After being a FICO business consultant for 9 years, I would suggest you to get SAP reference books reading first, before enrolling yourself into full SAP FI course. There are few good SAP FICO books from www.bookdepository.com (free delivery to Malaysia) that you may want to consider. Some of the books contain screenshots and some are just T-code directory( it just how i feel)
Since you are in manager level, I would advise you to go for SAP best practice business process flow, rather than technical configuration. As an end user, you are normally has no access on configuration.

I'm currently an end user in SAP HR and have plans to move on to the more technical side as consultant or support analyst. My plan is to get certified by next year in order to do that but before that I would like to know what's the current trend in the market. Is the demand for sap ppl good now? Any experience sifu can advice? Thanks.
