- Its not really a "true GMT" like the Rollie. Works more like an unmodified ETA 2893. Can't independently adjust the 12 hour hand which OK to monitor another timezone buts not much use when actually travelling/hopping between them.

- The movement felt "loose" for the lack of a better word. Rotor noise is audible and the motion of the rotor is easily felt akin (though slightly better) a Seiko 5.

- There's also some lateral play in the crown (itself feels light too) and the 24 hour hand's 1/2 hour jumps with an insecure wobble.

- In short, I'm conflicted because its EXCELLENT value for a GMT watch only its not one in the pure sense. As a USD600 watch, I think its just in the middle ground.
*
Eta 2893 watches starts from ~usd$500.
Don't think any watches under $600 with Rollie Gmt.
Eta 2836.

Movement - rotor is loud but very efficient winding, better than my zenith elite. Eta 7750 rotor and wobble is a lot worst than this watch.

Orient star is marketed a tad above entry level watch. Hacking is a good touch. Beat is on the slower side.

I don't notice the 1/3 hr jump on the 24hr hand daily use.

I find the date window small with a small display.

its not exactly a deal, its standard price.
IIRC the SRP here is RM2.7k with standard 30% less.
*
Jp retail price is at 90k yen with discount u are right.
The discount here is steeper than overseas.

Leather straps are like tires on a car. It will wear out regardless. Just wear it as you should, avoid getting it wet and change strap when the time comes.

No.. cordovan as in horse ass leather not the LLD type. Check gnomonwatches under rios waterproof strap. I think got something similar to the lld strap.
*
The quality of cordovan doesn't deserve one to coin it as horse ass leather, leather from the rump of the horse.

Waterproof leather doesn't exist, water resistance yea

I use Nivea Creme on my leather stuffs: jackets, wallets, shoes belts including leather straps. Effective, hypoallergenic and won't discolor leather.
