I dont' have a better word for this.
But I'm facing some problems using protein shakes. I've tried two types so far, and each time I use it I get heat buildup in my body. My muscles becomes tense and get pulls quite often. At times I even get some really nasty sores on the back of my head that wouldn't go till I stop taking those supplements for a week or so.

Do you have the similar situation? How do you deal with it?

Mind giving some details on this protein shake (name, brand etc)? it sounds more like a pre-workout supplement instead of your regular protein shake.

Dymazite Elite Whey Protein, prior to that I was taking something else.

Also taking creatine from MP assault.

That's about it. The rest are my daily vitamins.

I think that is the reason you are feeling the heat. Creatine is mostly used as a pre-workout supplement. Only take it 30 minutes before an actual workout. If no workout, then don't take it.

Don't think creatine's it. I was getting the sores and muscle problems way earlier, in fact I only started the creatine for the last 3 workout days... so I don't really think that's it.
You don't get such problems?

If you feel sore after (or days after) workout, tts normal (DOMS). The tense in the muscle (depending on how severe) can be due to heavy uric acid build-up. Eating lots of banana/broccoli can help rid both effects of DOMS and tired-tense muscles.
But muscle pulls on the other had is a different story. It may indicate low of sodium chloride (salt) in the body. Long exposure to cold can cause sudden muscle pulls. A sudden unprecedented move can also cause muscle pull. All this are especially true when your muscles are tired (because of the workouts - damages & deep tissue repairs, etc)

I'm not sure how its related to the whey protein. Creatine has a heating effect but not regular whey protein. Creatine may have elevated the previous problem you have been having. But i could be wrong.

Go see a doctor. It may be something else.

And to answer your question. No, i don't have the same problem. My body go get heated up (especially after meals) but that only indicates that my metabolism is high and good. I dont take creatine either. I dont find any real benefits of it.

Shouldn't be a problem though, maybe you can give pure whey protein a try. Just whey, with no additives and flavourings. A member here, 4Rings, sells them.

And are you having at least 2 litres of water everyday? Loss of water through workouts not factored into this amount.

You sure that's not due to other pre-work out stuff in your protein? e.g. caffeine?

Or it could just be elevated body temperature for the day after an intense workout.

Not quite. Creatine isn't a preworkout supp. In fact, its acute effects are next to none.

TS, increase your water intake and see if you still feel the same way.

Youre not wrong. Protein is thermogenic. Heatiness is expected. Get used to it and drink lots of water

Up water intake bro, a lot. I used to have the same issue. I finished working out at around 7pm, huge dinner (with lotsa protein) at 8pm.. I sleep at 1am.. still hot like mad even when I crank the aircond up.
