Never thought this left/right thumbprints thing become an issue. What I know they will check the thumbprints with mykad reader machine (or some kind of machine) for identity confirmation. The thumbprints on the the slip is just for documentation purpose only, I think

QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 22 2014, 06:23 PM) I have not tried opening ASX after they have been fully subscribed for the non bumi. Got one forummer try before CNY, he managed to "open" the account but the passbook needed to be "destroy" because no available units are available that time Like to know how many non bumi have tried and are successful. If there are some success stories, I may try my luck as then I know it is not a 100% failed attempt. Cheerio. |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 22 2014, 07:42 PM) Ya, I read that one. Shocked that is their procedure in opening new non bumi account. What a waste of effort and paper. yea such a wastage only Any one who successfully opened one non bumi ASX in the last 2 years? anyway, I didn't hear or know anyone that managed to "open" ASx past few years. Year 2010 got some managed to "open" AS1M even after the units sold-out. The staff willing to "try" because they say It's still new fund, got some "left-overs" units left. after the 1st divvy announcement also some managed to "open" AS1M |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 23 2014, 03:26 PM) 1. PCI from SCB - min 50k, roi for reference: 7-15%. I think its this one => https://www.sc.com/my/invest/premium-curren...investment.htmlSCB = Std Chartered Bank? Really at 7-15%? I am surprised/shocked. Why? I had one investment with Std CB and the return was lower than FD for many years! I have terminated that one some years ago. Interesting feedback. Thanks. QUOTE(tbheng @ Feb 23 2014, 03:39 PM) Check the PCI link as posted above. Which investment that u terminated? Was it PCI? Yes, that's the one. It is a rather interesting and powerful investment instrument. My favourite when sharing with my investment buddies. QUOTE This product is made available only to individuals with (1) net personal assets exceeding RM3million or its equivalent in foreign currencies, (2) gross annual income exceeding RM300,000 p.a. or its equivalent in foreign currencies (3) total net joint assets with spouse exceeding RM3million or its equivalent in foreign currency excluding the value of their primary residence, (4) total joint gross annual income with spouse exceeding RM400,000 p.a. or its equivalent in foreign currencies; OR corporate/partnership that has total net assets exceeding RM10million or its equivalent in foreign currency as at the last day of that financial year. I think I'm not "qualify" for it |

QUOTE(tbheng @ Feb 23 2014, 03:56 PM) When I started back in 2008, this clause was not there. I think the bank just recently made some changes They may have tighten the entry rules. If you are interested can always talk to them. Check out the example in the link u posted. It is really unique with the "guaranteed" yield. Name any other investment instruments that give guaranteed returns (besides FD, CASA). Not even EPF, ASx; mostly projected and pass performance references. And there are more besides the guaranteed yield... I've to think about it first before I can make any decision.. Anyway thanks for highlighting these kind of investment for all of us |

RM10b ASB2 set for launch in early April
http://www.nst.com.my/nation/general/rm10b...-april-1.491528 Main Point: 1- It's fixed price of rm1/unit 2- No sales charges or what so ever charges 3- Higher "limit" than 200k 4- Try to match ASB divvy if possible 5- Min investment of rm10 to "open" account So those "qualify", keep your ammo @ $$$ ready Too bad, there's no news about "Malaysian" fund |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 24 2014, 04:02 PM) I still can't get it, why another one when other similar funds have not been fully taken up? u already answer the question yourself To release steam from those who have already maximised up to their ASB limit? Cheerio. |

QUOTE(tbheng @ Feb 24 2014, 10:37 PM) I am no sifu, but would like to share my understandings... All sifu here, do correct me if I my understanding is wrong. I'm no sifu but the information given look correct to me 1) The 7.3 is the Net Distribution per unit (sen). For variable price fund, we should look at the returns, in this case it is 10.67% for 2013. This returns is net after all charges. Refer to this link. 2) Refer HERE for their daily prices. 3) My understanding is the mgmt fee are charged and taken into account during distribution calculation. Normally lower unit price after distribution. |
