Just back calculate the 16% with the divident amount. You will get the rough figure. it is no more than 6 billion while ASB fund size alone already exceed 100 billions.

I think its quite misleading...
i heard the 16% is consist of 7% dividen, 1% bonus, 8% special bonus...

based from the breakdown, not all of the members would be getting the 16%

Want to see which companies they invest in and I just follow. Ha Just kidding.

I think some political hidden hands are at work here to give this kind of very high return. My guess is to "reward" the armed forces to keep them in line with those at the top. Just my view.

Just to share my first visit to ASNB counter at PNB before CNY.

I filled 3 acct opening forms aiming to open anyone of ASW, AS1M or ASM.
Waited 45min for my number to be served.
The teller said only accept cash (no cash cheque as some mentioned here). 
She said they have to process new acct opening even without knowing if there is any available units.
A moment later she shown me 3 new passbooks but told me no available units and she had to destroy all the 3 books.   
Looking at those to-be-destroyed passbooks with my name printed, I was so disappointed and left with empty handed and gone for lunch.

After lunch I recoup my hope and went back to try my luck once more before heading home.
I took another number, when my number was called, I landed with the same teller. 
(Oh man... what is the chances of this happening with 6, 7 counters actively servicing?)
She glared at me and said calmly that I can't retry on the same day, the system will clear my details only at night.
I ended up opening ASG with the 2% SC offer. (I won't top up after this offer is over.)
And she was kind enough to help check again if any available unit for ASW/AS1M/ASM. Again failed. Fated. 
She said to open new acct, must minimally have 10k units before can place 100 units to new book. Not sure how true is that or some other unknown/hidden factors barring my account opening. 

Seeing the challenge to open new acct and further challenges to top up, I am putting my money elsewhere.
Spending time on other higher yielding instruments that work for me.
Oh ya, forgot to mention, I got a free nice laptop backpack from ASNB.

Hello. I just want to make sure... can I open up an ASB/ASN account at Maybank? Also , can I bank in money into my ASB account at Maybank branches?

i'm very sad for today bcoz i'm had transferred my EPF to ASG...and news stated that  EPF's dividend for 2013 is 6.35%... i pray that ASG will be more than 6.35%

I managed to top up RM600 into my ASM (yesterday RM300 and this morning another RM300)! Will try again later~

ZERO success for me lately.

I have been asked by at least 3 bank staff so far to go to ASNB for the top up as ASNB has better and faster system for the top up! BS.

Thinking of writing to the banks and ASNB to raise the issue that some bank staff are not that "friendly/helpful/etc" when it comes to customers wanting to top up their ASX.

What is the difference between this and customer depositing/withdrawing money at the counter?

Currently I only have ASM. Can I open AS1M & ASW2020 at pos office? The staff told me I must go to the PNB branch for account opening now since there is no new launching...is that so?

thanks for the prompt reply~I will try my luck at the ASNB branch if I were to take leave in the future, only their HQ is relatively closer to me, they don't have many offices
