U r rite
ASNB systems can check how many units is available
Banks/Pos dun have such features
I wud advise u inform d teller how much u want so that he/she can key-in immediately
If u check 1st n units is available, teller need to exit from the menu and go into top up menu which take times
Remember, timing n luck is d key features
*
Wow, that thing that you mentioned about asnb systems can check on how many units available is something that i don't know..

Thanks for the information... blush.gif

I have enough of asnb funds. Bought AS1M when most people avoided it, slowly accumulating it for a few months. Will unload it monthly when I retire but thru the BANKS, just don't want to carry too much money around even in thousands.
*
Same strategy with me, but my ASNB fixed price holdings still not sufficient enough...

Hope for more cash to dump in to enjoy my retirement with those funds in future..

Does anybody have any info about the new ASB2 e.g when will it be launched, what's the max investment limit per person, dividend rate, etc?
*
I believe the announcement of ASB 2 will be during the tabulation of the Budget 2014 on 25 October 2013..

Therefore, you may check for the newspaper on 26 October 2013 on whether there is any news about it..

Damn it.. Unable to top ASIM for my wife at post office. They already implement the owner must come and topup/update the book procedure..
*
There are goods and bads for this policy implemented..

First of all, the good thing is the chance for further bank in might increase because ASNB holders have to personally go to try top up instead of seeking help from others, which this would contribute to higher chances for bank in..

However, the bad thing is i am also having a hard time to ask someone to try for me also, then, this is difficult especially the ASNB agents are quite some distance from my office..

But i still believe that there is a bright chance and fair chance for us when this policy was implemented.

I am really curious on what happen to the planning of PM to launch the ASB 2 thingy..

Until today no news.. My projection that they will announce this fund during the Budget 2014 was also wrong.. lol..

I received mixed reaction and expectations about this new funds and some ppl say it might be a new hope for those non-bumiputera ppl..

Yes, i heard quite many mixed reactions about this fund..

60% of the feedbacks i received stated that there might be chance..

But i am not putting much hope for it to be opened to everyone..

Just take it as a bonus if it is..

please dont put so much hope on this one..

it is also people's belief, and it might not necessarily happen..

we can only hope, but it is hard for us to say at the moment because there are still no announcement about this ASB 2 thing at the moment..

technically speaking, ASB is a very good investment option for those who do not want to have headache & sleepless night about their investment portfolio.

example, since i am not eligible for ASB which gives 8%+, i need to scratch head every time to find the right investment product to get >8%  laugh.gif
*
yape, for me as a non-bumi, i always have to either scratch my head or invest my time in trying to deposit into the AS1M or ASM..

If i am eligible for ASB, i think it had been one of the best investment as no need to headache on when i can try to bank in, and the dividend announced are really high compared to my AS1M or ASM..

frankly speaking it is stupid to keep money in ASNB
you could easily use the money for a down payment of a house

hi there, your wording is very offensive...

avoid using offensive words in this forum.. we are here to share information, and opinions, not to say something like that.. blush.gif

please be advise that it is quite impossible for the non-bumi's to open an account although it is direct from ASNB...

i have checked from them.. and they said it is tedious for them to open the account, then there is no quota which would cause those officers to have no choice but to write back to their hq to close back the account..

Out of curiosity, contacted ASNB on whether my purchase amount should match exactly the amount a unit holder has sold his/her units.

Reply is, no. Purchase will be successful if the purchase amount is equal or less than the amount available for sale.

Lately, a BIG ZERO success strike rate with my trips to the banks and ASNB on the top-up. Any one with some success? Date and amount?

Cheerio.
*
Hi..

Well, i guess you are not the only one..

I am also trying hard but also with a ZERO success strike as well..

I guess, still many people are holding it without withdrawing it..

That is from AS1M under bumi quota right?

well, non bumi investors could not use their kwsp because the non-bumi quota has been sold out..

therefore, it should only be applicable to the bumi quota only..

my wife managed to open ASW just now.. smile.gif

Wow, really envy her..

Haiz.. I barely have any chance to even open the account.. because i am a non-bumi investor.. shakehead.gif

Is there really any other ways for a non-bumi to open ASW2020? Hopefully someday there would be a way for me to open the account..

Don't mind if i can opened the account with minimum RM100, as long as i can try to bank-in in future.

AS1M : RM100 balance --> open last year
ASW : RM100 balance --> open today

Do you think it is advisable to take out EPF money to dump into ASW or AS1M?
*
Depends on what u have in your mindset..

As for me, i will still maintain the proportionate of money in kwsp to be left untouched..

Because i have ASM and AS1M, at least my dividends will be as follows:-

KWSP - JANUARY
ASM - APRIL (DIVIDEND CREDITED)
AS1M - OCTOBER (DIVIDEND CREDITED)

I only left my ASW2020 to make it more nicer but I am not entitle to open the account.. blush.gif

At least this is a form of diversification for me.. although the returns in ASM or AS1M might be higher than KWSP. blush.gif

Actually if you look properly, you could get dividends from PNB's products almost each quarter in a year if you're invested with their funds. It's rather good for cash-flow planning but then again, the rule of thumb is not to put all of your eggs in one basket wink.gif

If really miracle happens, then it would be a bonus..

NAV/unit = 1.0000
Investment = 1,000
SC = 6% (excl 6% GST)
Cost = 1,000 + (6% of 1,000 = 60) + (6% GST of 60)
Cost = 1,000 + 60 + 3.60
Cost = 1,063.60
Summary = NAV + (6.36% of NAV)

Yape, that should be how the GST affects variable price unit trusts...
