QUOTE(lucifah @ Jan 10 2014, 05:14 PM) it's what everyone has explained. your dividend gained allowed you to invest more capital if you need further clarifications, u can always post your passbook & cert here, and we can see what actually happened - but you are reluctant to do so Sorry i dont understand this: How does my dividend gained allow me to invest more than the limit? 30K Sijil taken in 2012 while 190K invested mid 2013. That takes the total investment to 220K.

QUOTE(davinz18 @ Jan 10 2014, 05:10 PM) I got the feeling someone make a mistake. maybe the officer who did the 190k deposit or the ASNB system didn't detect the ASB account already reach the 200k limit (ex dividend) Yes this is what im beginning to think now. Thats why i dont want to take the ASB book and get them to check it. It might backfire on me which is why im asking here. But when the book was being updated on the 2nd, the officer at the bank was asked about the sijils and she said that sijils are not included as part of the 200K limit.

QUOTE(davinz18 @ Jan 10 2014, 05:49 PM) really? So my previous theory about upgrade of limit of 200k is somehow indirectly true Not sure if its a blanket rule or a mistake.

QUOTE(my44 @ Jan 11 2014, 12:58 AM) Like this lah. ASB already maxed 200k. I also have another cash 200k, say, in bank harimau. I cannot put this 200k in ASB anymore, right? So I am just doing the quick loan, get 200k in form of sijil ASB, then use cash in bank harimau to full settle the ASB loan (and kena penalty, of course), but the sijil becomes mine, no?
End result: 200k in ASB regular, 200k in sijil. Can? Thats wht im asking in my previous posts and thats wht i intend to do. In my case, i already have 2 maxed out accounts. Now targeting a 3rd but if got a choice, i rather use the sijil method and increase investments in the first account.

QUOTE(davinz18 @ Jan 16 2014, 02:53 PM) ASB max only 200k (fresh), how can apply 300k or 400k? Thats why i said something is not 'right'. Somehow i hear more n more ppl being able to top up beyond the 200K limit. Remember that i was asking about my case last week? I thought i had already maxed out the account. But when checked, the PNB agent said can pump in another RM 3,500 so i transfered immediately.

QUOTE(smartinvestor01 @ Jan 28 2014, 03:41 PM) there are news projecting that the BLR will increase by 0.25% to 0.50%.. The usual increase is 25 basis points which would mean an increase from 6.60% to 6.85% for the BLR (which has been long anticipated). Havent heard of 10-15 basis points increase so far. But BNM will introduce a new benchmark rate which will be standard across the banking industry.

Bank Negara did mention Q2 as the date to effect the rate framework change rite? So the decision to maintain the OPR rate in Q1 isnt exactly surprising.

QUOTE(smartinvestor01 @ Feb 25 2014, 11:21 AM) Haiz, another fund which set the non-bumi's aside again..
The hard-feelings that i have is so hard to describe.. can only try over the counter and most of the time ended up with zero, while the bumi can deposit their money into the account at any time.. There are ways around this. You just have to be smart enough to think out of the box instead of complain that nothing can be done. Where there's a will, there will always be a way.
