Hello, as the topic has already mentioned,

this topic is open to all Peugeot 208 owner, as i'm also one of it.
I'm currently driving a 3 doors 208, red colour.

btw i have a doubt regarding the signal side there,
there is button which you can press on the signal (left side) and wiper side (right ).

when you press the right side button, is to change the screen displayed near the meter gauge as well as the LCD screen,

but, how about the signal side button? is it i'm the only one who found this?

the picture above is just for highlighting purposes, not own by me and it's not the Malaysia version of 208

Well, any other who have questions about 208, please do not hesitate to comment biggrin.gif

This is a beautiful car that i'm tempted to get also.
But i do have doubts, so if you don't mind, can you answer some of these question?
- How is the car so far?
- How long have you been driving it? How is the fc?
- Can you give us a review?

Since this is an owner thread, i guess answering these would benefit everyone.

Thanks.
*
sure do !

I've been driving the car for like 3 months biggrin.gif yesterday was exactly 3 months old,
went for my first inspection on last month.
3k mileage currently.

Q : How is the car so far?
A : So far so good. But the glove compartment is too small, can't even fit the service book ._. and an extra button found on the signal there which do nothing. (I guess is for design purpose)

Q : how long have you been driving it ? How is the fc?
A : Drove it like 3 months biggrin.gif everything seems okay to me.
Regarding Fuel consumption, i always pump full (shell 95) and manage to travel only 250km to 300km.
but there are people who can travel 300 - 400km with full tank (it depends on how you use)
I've tried come and back from KL (oug) to LCCT with full tank + sports mode, and at the end i manage to travel around 500+km

I'm a student, so i drive almost every weekdays from my house to uni (around 15 - 20 KM)
sometimes night go out yum cha, or once in a while go makan, watch movie, etc.
took me like every 5 to 7 days then i will need to pump once.

so conclusion FC is depends on how you drive (with sports mode or w/o sports mode)

Q : Can you give us a Review?
A : I'm planning to do a video regarding my hot and sexy 208 after i finish my exam tongue.gif

there are a few things i like the most :
1.

user posted image

the blue colour lighting at the side of the roof top

2.

user posted image

the white colour head light biggrin.gif

besides that, i will roughly list out the features that i remember :
- small steering wheel
- LCD touch screen
- comes with sports mode and winter mode
- welcome light
- sport rim

Extra info :

- I have try speed 190km/h while i'm on my way to LCCT and the whole car is quite bumpy

I don't drive a 208, but a 207. So I'll try to be a busybody here.

In the 207, the left stalk is a toggle switch that activates/deactivates the auto light sensor. To access this function, turn off the ignition. Then turn the key to "ON" (the first click), not "ACCESSORIES". Press and hold the button on the left stalk (maybe about 3 seconds or so). You should hear a "ding". Voila, that should activate/deactivate the auto light sensor!

Hope this helps, and the function's the same in the 208.

Yesterday morning, when i'm on my way to uni, ALL OF SUDDEN !! *ENGINE TEMPERATURE FAULT PLEASE STOP VEHICLE* !!!! and i was like WTF WTF & WTF !!!!? The temperature suddenly *BOOM* rises to the MAX !

I immediately stopped my car aside and open up my bonnet to check. Nothing seems to be wrong, checked the water level and it is still at the correct water level that it supposed to be.

Then i called the service center(chan sow lin branch). Peugeot technician told me if water is not leaking, most probably is the sensor malfunction.

SENSOR MALFUNCTION ._. not even half year car (only 4&half months) has SENSOR MALFUNCTION !! what kind of stupid joke is that?

So, after a long "scolding session" with the technician, i try to make an appointment with them ASAP to fix the current problem. and you know what? "I'm so sorry sir, we currently don't have spare parts for the model 208, if you can wait, you can leave your car here, we can help you to diagnose and check exactly what is causing the problem. THEN we help you to order the spare parts OR if you cannot wait, you can straight go to our puchong outlet"

Then after i got the puchong outlet's number and address and i called them up (Puchong outlet).
The technician told me to come over tomorrow (11/10/2013) which is today and let them diagnose.

SOOOOO, TODAY... (time : 1500+-) i started my car and the warning sign is still there.
While i'm on my way to the service center (puchong outlet) SUDDENLY ! MAGICALLY ! SURPRISINGLY ! the warning gone away.
so i'm pretty sure is the sensor which is causing the problem...

Then.. i've reach there.. talked to the technician.. try to ask them to fix it asap and...... ._. the technician told me "Sorry la bang, hari ni dah full. Banyak kereta lagi kena service hari ni."
wtf man.. you ask me come all the way just to let you *touch touch* *wramp wramp* *looking around* AND ASK ME COME BACK NEXT WEEK ?! THAT'S ALL ???!!!
ended up made an appointment with them next week ._.

what a bad experience ._. even my old car (proton saga) also don't have such problem / bad service

However, no offence though.....if anyone have this and that worry when considering buying a Peugeot or any conti cars, I will usually advice them to just get a Toyota.

that's very true ! i totally agree with you.

We finally have an owner's club?! Awesome! *crying tears of happiness*

I'm the owner of a white 3-door AT 208, first batch in April/May. Tinted with Huper Optik smile.gif

I've had no problems with my car so far, thank God for that. (I may have just jinxed myself...) Just a minor accident where some of my paint chipped off, but I learned to let it go.

I agree with a bunch of posts here that from a layman's view, the 208 is mostly just aesthetics. Lovely DRLs and headlights, premium interior decor, mood lighting, eye-catching central console... It largely depends on how you feel about the car on first meeting. For me I fell for the aggressive headlights, bright DRLs and the heavy doors. Slamming the door on my 3-door is oddly satisfying. laugh.gif The weight is reassuring too, but need to warn my friends to be careful with it, it swings hard.

Talking about the doors on the 3-door, you have to be careful when opening it... Most parking spaces in Malaysia are too small to accomodate the long doors (!!) So if you're not careful, you can accidentally push the door too hard and slam the next car... Happened a few times to me, thanks goodness the paint doesn't chip easily. Only for the 3-door, I don't think 5-doors have this problem.

Hmm what else...oh, I love the 3D surround sound! I listen to a lot of club/dance with heavy bass, and the speakers adapt well. Zedd, Guetta, Afrojack, Calvin Harris all sound great! If you have the 3-door, try putting one of your favourite songs on slightly high volume, then sitting in the middle backseat and let the music play. Feels like the song is in your head, really creepy! Ahem. But anyway, listening to Il Volo or orchaestra tracks (movie soundtracks; I'm looking at you, Star Trek) are a bit of a let down. Even the Classical music setting is a bit lacking. Need to play around with the settings I guess. But mainstream pop and indie tracks play well enough, so I'm very happy thumbup.gif

Fastest I've gone is 170 km/hr... More than that I don't dare because the car starts to shake. I'll post up my FC later, but I filled up my tank with Primax 95 from the mark above the red zone for about RM40, then I drive from Shah Alam to Putrajaya Monday morning, then do some city driving in Putrajaya (loads of traffic lights, damnnn), and drive back to Shah Alam on Friday. The RM40 is just enough to last me the whole week, returning me back to the original mark. And I do drive in the fast lane a lot on the highways, so...

Anyway that's my two cents... I can try answering any questions, just ask smile.gif
*
very true on the door's matter. i'm a 3 doors 208 owner, and a lot of my friends or relative always used to open the door too hard (because it's quite heavy) and hit something ._. always make me feel so pain !!!

Hello, I am considering getting a 5-door 208 for my wife. My only concern is service centre operated by Naza. Are they up to par?
*
well, to me that question is depending which service centre you're sending to.
I normally go to the one at Jalan Chan Sow Lin. went there twice. (first inspection and first service),
everything seems good to me. smile.gif satisfy with their service.

but there is once i went to puchong one to fix the temperature sensor, their service is very slow !
got to keep on calling and ask them how's the car only they will start working lol

Bro, thinking to book the car soon.

May i know is there any issue with the GEARBOX problems. I heard there is gearbox problem.

thanks
*
not sure is it a problem or not. 208 gearbox is sometimes quite Jerky especially when is in sports mode.
when i'm on highway (with sports mode on) and when the time i reach Tol (need to slow down, thus i have to brake)
you will feel the whole car like jerky (chok har chok har* in cantonese)

maybe this is due to the high ratio of the gear, that's why you'll feel jerky whenever the car lowered the gear

Just did my 20k service and they didnt give me any free gift until i asked. They gave me a damn towel. I noticed some of them in the fb group who did 10k service and got a cutlery set while i got none. Do we have to ask for gifts like these all the time? Please enlighten me.
*
i don't get any free gift also when i sent my car for 10k service

Hi guys,

I'm looking around for a B-seg car currently. Is 208 really that problematic? We have (1) oxygen sensor prob (2) leaky gearbox prob (3) temperature sensor prob

Besides that, why are there so many 2014 & 2013 used 208s for sale? It's tempting but it sounds fishy. I suppose most of those low-mileage used 208s are showroom cars.

Pls comment.

Hi,

I've been driving 208 (3 doors) for 2 and half years, so far i have encountered 3-4 times sensor problem, and everytime it took service centre 3-5 hours (Chan Sow Lin Service Centre) to rectify the problem and it's all under warranty, so that means i did not pay any cent for it.

For a B-segment car, i would say Peugeot 208 is quite costly to maintain,
average i will have to spend RM400-600 (normal service) to service my 208 (either half year or i reach the specific mileage given)
and my next service will be major service but i heard it will cost around RM1200 - RM1800 (wallet bleeding)

I would say 208 is quite comfortable and nice to drive but definitely have to pay the price for it.
