Just to update on my car status. After 2 days showing with Engine Fault (due to weekend), it was taken into the official SC. On the way, I stopped for breakfast and lo and behold, the fault disappeared after a restart.
Was informed by SC this car was updated for Oxygen Sensor SW previously so it wouldn't be that issue. After checking no trouble was found....they suspect could be sensor harness loose or cable fault due to "rat bites". The SC wrapped some of the exposed sensor cable dressings for free. Now the car has been released and is puffing along fine.
Being an Engineer I'm still not satisfied till the root cause is found, so I still suspect actual sensor failure or maybe another common issue being the Battery almost dead (I have no way to tell on this as previous owner couldnt remember, and SC didn't have internal record).
To this end I bought a bluetooth ODB / ELM reader, maybe I can see the error code and do some self diagnosis.
Happy motoring and wish you all have smooth trouble free drives.

Anyone done the air cond recall replacement and can feel any improvement?
i've changed the air con compressor and etc under the recall but the air con is warmer then before.
Beside, anyone changed the absorber + absorber mounting at workshop outside ? how much does it cost? SC quoted Rm1.6k if not mistaken.

Sent my 208 for 100k service yesterday. Before collecting the car, the service advisor informed me that my car has some serious issue and ask me to go back the service center as the technician want to show me what went wrong.
As I got there, they told me my car exhaust pipe has shifted dramatically and it is pressing against my petrol tank and may break it if the impact is too much. Asked me to leave my car there to wait for spare parts to replace as it is too dangerous to drive and quoted me rm2k+++. According them, it is probably I banged something underneath and it wrecked the exhaust pipe which I cannot recall any incident.
I was a bit shocked as I have no problem in driving this car for the past few months other than some minor noise. So i decided not to repair at that moment and want to drive back as i need it for work. However, the staffs informed me that they wont bear any responsibility if anything go wrong as it is dangerous to drive and ask me to sign to agree.
So after I signed it, i started to drive home. While I'm on my way, i already notice some unusual sound, however i still can bear with it. But when i got home, only i realised there is a serious issue. Because I am staying in a condo, I will need to drive up to 3rd floor. Once I turn up the ramp, I heard a loud noise, like something screeching the ground so hard and it terrified me. I was shocked and quickly drive to 1 workshop nearby my house.
Then the technician there show me what went wrong and said it is definitely a recent incident if not I would have realise it earlier as I drive it everyday.
They helped me to fix it but my exhaust pipe wont be original part anymore but at least I feel safer.
Called the service center again and they told me is not their problem. It must be me who wrecked the car earlier and caused the problem. However, I have drove it for few months and never have any problem before I sent it for service. So disappointed and frustrated with the crews there. Still waiting for explanation from their manager and Peugeot Malaysia 😥😥

Hi, Can any 208 Puretech owner here confirm whether the Eco mode (auto start & stop) can be turned off permanently? I heard some other car (eg. Myvi) can't turn off this function permanently, need to manually turn it off every time you start the car.

Am looking at purchasing a 13/14 208 (3 doors variant). Anyone can advise on the items that I need to look out for? Any common issues with this model?

Hello everyone! New post for year 2020! I am considering to buy 208, 1.6 2014-2016. 5 doors valued at 26k or below while 3 doors is closer to 30k. Some even only 30k mileage. I am currently driving Mazda 2 (the old one with smiley face) but own by my dad. My salary is biasa2 only so can afford car around 30k only.
Want to know what are 208s' owner opinion on their car and how much is the cost per service outside SC. Since the price is low, I am very tempting to get this car but need to do research first. Of course Axia is better in term of cost, but hey, just want to know.

Hi y'all,
An elderly guy who owns a 208 met with a frontal collision 2 weeks ago. His 208 was sent to the Authorized Service Center and later it was sent to an authorized workshop for repair works.
Insurance claim was approved recently and workshop had just ordered the parts abut the person-in-charge was unable to inform the owner when the parts would arrive also.
Q : Based on your experience, agak-agak when the repair can be completed ? What time kind of approximate time frame ?
Thanks a million cause I want to inform the elderly guy what kind of time frame is he looking at. Apparently he thinks Peugeot spare parts berlambak. Aiyoyo.
UPDATE
Please ignore this post as the elderly guy's wife decided to block my communications with her husband. I dont know what is the story between them but I believe if she had told him the truth, he might understand or worse case scenario his memory is failing him. Anyway I am glad this is over for me.
