Are you saying 208 is noisier than Jazz?

I am leaning towards 208 because of the luxury interior. Jazz interior felt cheap. Both are almost the same price. That's why I rather buy 208 as it feels more premium inside and out.

The 2014 Jazz interior has improved, but I don't like the new design of the exterior.

haha, actually the engine humming noise which can b heard when start from 0km/h is acceptable for most ppl, till u reach certain speed its not noticable already. other than the engine sound, other NVH is similar

QUOTE(Zephyr_Mage @ Dec 2 2013, 09:59 PM)
Kinda decided on the 208. Just like the car more despite the JH being the more practical choice (FC, free service, comfort, space).
Yeah, I see how poor the RV of the Insight is as well, so I won't be surprised if JH suffers the same fate. Can't argue with the price tag and the free service though.

But having said that, I'm still a young man and I like flashier cars smile.gif

RM320/service doesn't sound too bad.

I'm praying hard that I don't get a lemon icon_question.gif

We finally have an owner's club?! Awesome! *crying tears of happiness*

I'm the owner of a white 3-door AT 208, first batch in April/May. Tinted with Huper Optik smile.gif

I've had no problems with my car so far, thank God for that. (I may have just jinxed myself...) Just a minor accident where some of my paint chipped off, but I learned to let it go.

I agree with a bunch of posts here that from a layman's view, the 208 is mostly just aesthetics. Lovely DRLs and headlights, premium interior decor, mood lighting, eye-catching central console... It largely depends on how you feel about the car on first meeting. For me I fell for the aggressive headlights, bright DRLs and the heavy doors. Slamming the door on my 3-door is oddly satisfying. laugh.gif The weight is reassuring too, but need to warn my friends to be careful with it, it swings hard.

Talking about the doors on the 3-door, you have to be careful when opening it... Most parking spaces in Malaysia are too small to accomodate the long doors (!!) So if you're not careful, you can accidentally push the door too hard and slam the next car... Happened a few times to me, thanks goodness the paint doesn't chip easily. Only for the 3-door, I don't think 5-doors have this problem.

Hmm what else...oh, I love the 3D surround sound! I listen to a lot of club/dance with heavy bass, and the speakers adapt well. Zedd, Guetta, Afrojack, Calvin Harris all sound great! If you have the 3-door, try putting one of your favourite songs on slightly high volume, then sitting in the middle backseat and let the music play. Feels like the song is in your head, really creepy! Ahem. But anyway, listening to Il Volo or orchaestra tracks (movie soundtracks; I'm looking at you, Star Trek) are a bit of a let down. Even the Classical music setting is a bit lacking. Need to play around with the settings I guess. But mainstream pop and indie tracks play well enough, so I'm very happy thumbup.gif

Fastest I've gone is 170 km/hr... More than that I don't dare because the car starts to shake. I'll post up my FC later, but I filled up my tank with Primax 95 from the mark above the red zone for about RM40, then I drive from Shah Alam to Putrajaya Monday morning, then do some city driving in Putrajaya (loads of traffic lights, damnnn), and drive back to Shah Alam on Friday. The RM40 is just enough to last me the whole week, returning me back to the original mark. And I do drive in the fast lane a lot on the highways, so...

Anyway that's my two cents... I can try answering any questions, just ask smile.gif

Haha, it is a beautiful car, no doubt about it, but that being said... (here comes the cons...)

I wish they did more with the central console. For now I only use it to play music and... display... photos? blink.gif

I get so jelly watching all the European 208 ads with the foursquare-like crowd-share features, the GPS nav, etc etc. I heard that NAZA is really bad at rolling out 'software' updates to the central console. Heck, apparently 3008 (or was it 5008?) users have been waiting to properly use their screens since launch, and nothing yet! I'm also hella jealous of the Android-powered touchscreens of the Suprima S. Anyone know the full extent of what they can do? Either way it sounds much more sensible to use Android for a major touchscreen feature in a car. Though I guess streaming videos onto your central unit while driving would lead to more road traffic accidents. rclxub.gif

Also CRUISE CONTROL! Why the hell did they take this out? Such a bummer. Seriously, it was listed as one of the features in the classy brochure I was given last April at a major NAZA WORLD showroom. Then it's actually not there?! My dad asked a sales rep about it and he laughed at us, saying "Kereta kecik macam ni mana ada cruise control, encik..." and my dad very nearly whipped him in the head with the brochure. rolleyes.gif

But I guess you learn to live with it after a while. I accept my 208's flaws just as it accepts that I sometimes drive it like a madwoman. Ahaks.

The aesthetics, mostly. Personal preference. The 3-door just looks better with the various addons, even though it's less practical if you're planning to have a lot of passengers. But I also like how the 3-door seems to have sturdier, thicker doors than the 5-door. Very reassuring. You have to try it to believe it.

How much did your Huper Optik cost ? And do you know which HO you installed ..as in the specs..
Any complaints so far with the car ? i should be getting mine soon.

By the way... is there a break in period for this car? eg.. first 1000km dont drive agressively till the 1000km service. But from what i know...there's just a 2500km checking and 10k service.

My Huper Optik cost me around RM1500. I can't remember the specifics but I think it was 70% VLT on the front and back screens and 50% VLT shield/security for the 4 sides. So mine is pretty clear because I'm not a big fan of the dark tints. I got a special LYN price apparently from the shop's agent here... You might want to search for him smile.gif

My complaints I've outlined above... other than that I've had no problems I think. Are you getting a 3-door? What color? smile.gif

My FC recently was 10.0km/L with average speed of 33.3km/hr (haha, city driving) but I've reset the meter so we'll see.

Actually, I did that... Drove pretty carefully for the first 1000KM, didn't push the car too much, then brought the car in for service. Some people say it's not necessary, but better safe than sorry right? Also on the subject of servicing, my agent recommends the Balakong or Glenmarie Peugeot service centers... They're appointment-only (have to call them up in advance to arrange a slot for you) but their service is top-notch and the staff are friendly. They're rated as some of the best service centers, so that's why they receive a lot of customers and had to arrange appointments lol. I personally frequent the Balakong center.

Wah! I wanted a blue 3-door too but back in April the waiting list for blues was like. 3 months. >_> Infinitely glad I'm got a white one instead though - it's so sparkly! wub.gif

No, the SA was the one who mentioned it to me, which is why I did it. A few people were against it, saying that you should push the car to the limit when you get it since it's a modern car and should not need breaking in... but well, I did it anyway. smile.gif If anything, you won't run the engine rugged so soon. Easy does it! tongue.gif

I think your friend bought much earlier right? He should have gotten a nice rebate. The SA told me too..when 208 just launch..they had some parts issue...so they give rebate for cars without reverse sensor.

whoa...really can reach that speed ? feel like flying ? engine dying? hehe.. 4 speed will be quite straining at high speed right ? high rpm.
