Nope. Just pure speculation lol.
If I work for MSI do you expect seeing me spouting conspiracy theories about MY OWN COMPANY?
THIS.
In the end, MSI doesn't really "condone" user upgrades anyway so this point is actually moot. They DON'T expect you to stuff power consuming things inside and use their laptops with the batteries out to begin with lol. Hence them providing what is NEEDED by the base config (and regional variants) without providing any buffer for "future expansion".
I mean, if the laptop is imminently upgradable, who's going to buy the model that replaces? It's called Planned Obsolescence, and while everyone does this, let's just say MSI is slightly more obvious (or to put it in a better way, LESS DEVIOUS) about it.
yeah that's right. like any other laptop manufacturers, the nightmares begin when the consumers have a pair of itchy hands. it's totally understandable that they do not encourage self upgrades. If I work for MSI do you expect seeing me spouting conspiracy theories about MY OWN COMPANY?

Well, I'm not saying what MSI is doing is entirely GOOD for US, the 10% of laptop users who actually know what's going on inside their laptops. What I'm saying is simply that what they're doing makes good sense, for THEM and for 90% of the people out there who just want to play games, don't really give an eff about what's inside (besides it being the LATEST AND FASTEST) and replace their laptops on a regular basis.
*ehem*gamers*ehem*.
I mean, I'll be the first to feel good the moment MSI decides it's a good thing to supply their laptops with better PSUs, but I really don't think they're going to do anything about it. They don't really believe in "appeasing the masses" with small details like that, because their target market simply isn't the 10% of us who care.
MSI's game is more "cheaper for even more stuff compared to the competition" after all - for now anyway. Unfortunately, the "shortcuts" taken to get there might only be visible to us "enthusiasts", and the "GAMERZ" crowd that MSI is trying hard to attract, has no idea.
this is so true; totally agreed. i am fine with all these market stuff. i just thought it would be perfect if they want to have us 10% haha!*ehem*gamers*ehem*.

i think i should stop looking for choices to fill up my needs. i will stick to aw and clevo. (in fact, msi is the last one that i think has the right characteristics except one or two)
